I'd go ahead and get the PS2 version. Upgrade to the PS3 version later, since the instruments work for both. I did this for Rock Band and it turned out pretty well.

Hardwiring is probably the best option.

The SG is a lot better than the Kramer.

What ever you do don't get a kramer, the buttons are very stiff. Either try to get the RO wireless to work or use a SG. I don't know if the Frontman is good or not though.

It works with both. There is switch on the wireless dongle that switches it to GH or RB.
