Unfortunately for you the answer is no. A guitar needs the brains (main circuit board) of the corresponding console to work.

Do not just rip it off. Someone tried that once and it basically broke the guitar. Either you solder it or you are SOL.

Try opening it up and cleaning the fret button circuit board contacts (underneath the rubber pads) with rubbing alcohol.
