To make a GH controller from stratch?
I mean by starting with a wood template or something cutting out the shapes and then useing a normal Duelshocks circuits and stuff and wiring it inside to make the buttons and stuff.

Has anything like this been done before? If so any pics of some finished ones?

If you do it, use a PS1 dualshock. If you use a PS2 dualshock, it won't work with GH2.

You can use the PS2 duelshock, but you will have to buy the adapter from TAC. Both my flamed SG and my daughter's White Tiger were made wireless last spring, and all I needed was the wired controller adapter from TAC. Each SG was done with a different controller, the tiger is a nyko PS2 duelshock (which does get interference from cell phones) and the flamed one is a Logitech wireless.

Is the ps2 dualshock the black controller that came with the ps2? Because if it is, it works on gh1 and 2 for me.

as a controller it works, but GH2 will not recognize it as a guitar due to the analog signals from the buttons. The PS1 controller's only analog outputs were from the analog sticks. The TAC adapter has a IC chip that converts all the analog signals back to digital to mimic the older controller.
