Two words; executive douchebags. Either that or Vinnie Paul isn't too keen on licensing masters, or they can't be found.

Anyways, as awesome as Pantera are, this isn't tempting me to import for the UK release. And when it does come out here it'll be a rent at best me thinks.

BEST
DLC
EVER

I just bought RR a few days ago and just received it earlier today. I hope this pops up on the Marketplace at 2 am...

EDIT: For those of you not wanting to follow the link:

Quote:
Rock Revolution
For music credits, visit the Rock Revolution section of www.konami.com.

* “Cemetery Gates” ($1.50)
* “Mouth For War” ($1.50)
* “This Love” ($1.50)
* “5 Minutes Alone” ($1.50)
* “I’m Broken″ ($1.50)
* Pantera Pack Track Pack ($5.50) - The “Pantera Pack” includes cover versions of “Cemetery Gates”, “Mouth for War”, “This Love”, “5 Minutes Alone”, and “I’m Broken” made famous by Pantera. Expand your Rock Revolution track library by purchasing this track pack.

HOLY BALLS! Even as covers, I'm stoked! Covers are better than nothing...and yes...they are. Though I don't have money for the pack, I'm surprised by this since I just picked up RR today for kicks cause I got it for 18 bucks used and a discount cause of my gamestop card. This will make me suffer through the annoying fret board for sure

Some charts are painful
some are a lot of fun

I fully recommend the purchase of this DLC \m/

This is what I see happening in retaliation to this DLC.

GH: Secretly having every song on GH metallica thats not by metallica be pantera.

RB: Releasing "The greatest of Pantera pack 01", the subsequently release "The greatest of Pantera pack 02" the week after.

The idea of a Pantera DLC pack for RR is just....hilarious! As much as I love the band, I don't think I could stomach the completely vertical scroll, though, This Love is absolutely crushing....I'm torn about this.

The fact that people still complain about the superior overhead perspective disgusts me.

That doesn't stop you singing IRL, you know, I'm pretty sure he'd be referring to vocal covers of Pantera being downright terrible (which they always are)

Anways, wat. The games not out here yet but all the hate it's gotten, along with gameplay videos of it has already made me not want to buy it, and five Pantera covers won't change that.

What I want to know, is why the hell can they get Pantera for this, but not GH/RB?

Me too. We get stuck with Roy Orbinson while RR gets Pantera...

I'll take Roy Orbison masters in Rock Band over Pantera covers in Rock Revolution any day. The Orbison pack is by far my favorite pack this year and I buy and play everything. Having said that, I'm still impressed by many of the tracks in Rock Revolution (even if the cover quality isn't the best) i.e. Holy Wars, White Room, Stone Cold Crazy, Cum on Feel the Noize etc... Pantera's yet another example of how going the route of covers can expand the awesomeness of tracks. Kind of like how GHWT recently got Ram Jam and ZZ Top due to covers.
