We can run monthly events as well as the monthly score tournaments - I'm just trying to ascertain how much interest people have in it before I get it planned out etc... ^_^ |

If you want to get a gauge of interest, you need to spread the word. A mention on your website would be the first thing (I've been in Gamerbase twice and saw more written on paper on the wall about your GH:WT contests than the website - some people have a hard enough time knowing you actually exist!). You should also post on the Rock Band section of SH, they have feelings too.
I totally understand that you can't just issue a contest for something you'll get one person to attend (vox? ) but you could always protect yourself by saying it is running as a trial and needs a minimum attendance (which you can see there and then if there is interest), otherwise things are only run as a (gasp) fun/socialising event, whatever one of those is. You'd make money from people using their time anyway, right? (wait, how does gamerbase work?)
This isn't criticism. I like what I saw at your place, and I think there's enough GH (but should be RB) saturation in the area to get good attendance. If People Know. |

Oooh wow, I live in Manchester (for about the next 4 weeks until I graduate anyway). What date is the next tournament scheduled for? I definitely fancy giving this a go even though I will probably fail miserably.
Also what's all this about having credit on your account? What account? What credit? Does it cost money? I'm utterly confused.
Any GH games get my vote over rock band by the way. But I guess GH3 would be my preference (although I am quite good at prisoner of society). |

For the guy that posted above me, there is some guy called 'MysticAndy' who's leading on all songs, got 100% on them all, but Seek And Destroy if im right...
Also, you really need to introduce a GH3 contest section, the number of times ive been there and people have been playing 3 over WT is... mad. _________________

Ok we'll put up a table for Guitar Hero 3
We're currently running a GH: Metallica tournament to promote the launch of that and the new HMV pure card, it's a points reward card that has some awesome stuff for sale, if you have a pure card, or want to buy one (£3) you can set a high score on Enter Sandman and we're giving a copy of the game away for the top prize!
Just to mention... we're changing the way we distribute prizes for the tournaments, they will now instead be given out using our 'fraglotto' system, which basically means that if you score say 350k at a song, you'll be given 350k electronic tickets to a lottery, whereas someone who scores 80k, will be given 80k tickets... so everyone has a chance at winning based upon their skill level, and they can choose any difficulty ^_^
If any of you come in, we can have a talk about what you would like to see in the future as we're really interested in building up a set of events with scorehero.
Regards,
Chris aka smile

I'd pop down but the incentive isn't very high. I play on wii so I can't use gamerpoints, they're only worth like £15 anyway, it costs me like a fiver to get to town and back and it's done on a lottery, so even if I play best out of everyone I'm not guarenteed to win, and on top of that you have to pay to play.
Sounds like a bad deal to me. _________________
