WCG Australia 2009 - Guitar Hero WT tournament details

Sorry for the very belated notice, but until just recently had not received details regarding the Guitar Hero World Tour WCG 2009 Australian Qualifier.

Do you want to represent Australia in Guitar Hero?

On Saturday October 10, Beyond Internet Cafe, in Sydney, will play host to the Australian WCG 2009 GH Preliminaries Qualifiers, where anyone with the talent can take a crack at winning a spot in the final Guitar Hero World Tour Tournament which will take place on Sunday. What do you have to do to enter? It's easy!

When you arrive at the netcafe (Registrations Open at 10am Saturday), Give your name and details to the people at the registration desk and stand in line to take your shot representing Australia. Get the highest score and you'll be offered a spot to play in the main tournament on Sunday!

We have 15 qualifying spots on offer with prizes for 2nd and 3rd so you'll have to make sure you know your stuff! Should you qualify, you'll be facing off against one of the Guitar Hero World Tour players who qualified at the State events around Australia earlier this year. Beat them and you could be on your way to Chengdu, China to battle it out with the world's finest!

When: Qualifying rounds Saturday 10th October, Finals Sunday 11th October.

Where: Beyond Internet and Gaming, 505 Lower Ground Floor, George St. Sydney

Format:

To qualify for the finals on Sunday, players will have to play “Ozzy Osbourne – Mr Crowley”. The players who get the top 15 scores will then be seeded according to their scores. As players will be qualifying individually, the hyperspeed mode setting will be free to select.

The players that make it to Sunday will be placed into a Double Elimination Best of Three Bracket. The higher seed will have first song choice (or can opt to pass it on to the lower seed), and second seed being allowed second song choice. If a third song is needed, this will be chosen at random by the Tournament Director.

First Prize – A ticket to China to represent Australia at the 2009 World Cyber Games World Finals held in Chengdu

Second Prize – A Samsung Omnia HD Mobile Phone

Third Prize – A Samsung LED Monitor

As you can see, there are some excellent prizes on the line. I look forward to seeing all the hopefuls on Saturday, at the Beyond Internet Cafe.

Game Version: Guitar Hero: World Tour (With the latest LIVE update applied)
ESRB Rating: Teen (Age +13)
Anyone born after Nov.11th 1996 will not be allowed entry to the GF.

Competition Method : 1 vs. 1
Winner Condition: The player with the highest score wins
Game Settings
Game Type : Pro Face-Off
Difficulty: Expert
Hyperspeed Mode: On, 1 (Setting can be changed only if both players agree)
Slider bar: Off (Slider bar can be turned on if and only if both players agree to this change)
Character: Free Choice
