Anything similar to anchors in Feedback or an alternate syncing method? |
It's essentially going to be the same as feedback save for being able to use the mouse. I plan on having a little bpm icon on sync points where people can set or remove the anchor with a right click and move them by dragging them. Of course they'll also be able to be set via a popup box or the feedback way of using +/-. I apologize if I didn't explain well. It will make more sense when I have a working implementation but I am more focused with other things currently.
BPMs can only be precise up to thousandths because of the way turkeyman decided to set up the chart format. They are stored as signed integers although I'm not sure why as a bpm should never be negative. I am honestly considering implementing my own chart format eventually but not yet.
A bpm of 107.99 is stored as 107990. |
Well I think thousandths is more than enough for accuracy, so that's fine by me! And I'm glad to hear we can expect anchors too; if this ends up being as easy to sync with as dB is it may well replace it for me. Looks good so far! _________________

Just a question:
Will the charts created using chartEdit be compatible with FeedBack flawlessly, and vice versa? I know that when I try loading a .mid that I created using EOF (Editor on Fire; I don't use it anymore though), the notes are about a millisecond off. So I was wondering if the charts made in chartEdit will or will not end up being like that when opened in FeedBack.
Also, could you estimate when you see at least a beta release in the future? I'd love to get my hands on this as soon as possible :P _________________

wow! ive been waiting for something like this since theGhost first came out. i have a non-qwerty keyboard and feedback has all its commands mapped to "the 3rd button on the second row" rather than "E" so it made using it a real biatch.
i see you're using .NET/c# to make this. have you tried compiling it and/or running it with MONO? you would make a lot of linux & mac users (myself included) happy if it will work in MONO. |

Is there any progress on this program? I was really looking forward to it and it'd be a shame to see it just die out.
Also, will there be an option where you can type in a BPM? I hated having to get to thousandths in Feedback. |

Well I have no idea what happened to this development, but I'll bump it. I mean, this looks really cool and I was hoping this would be released soon.
Would this also be available for Linux? _________________

"Also, chartEdit is on an indefinite hiatus as I'm bored of working on it currently."

If I continue working on it, I'm going to rewrite most of it. I don't have the motivation to do that right now though. There's some really terrible code in it right now. _________________

Well that sucks.
I'm don't have much time to do a lot, but I could probably organize the code over a month or two and if I'm successful, I can send it back to you and you can continue working on it
Only if you want me to.
I'm also very busy with school and work, just life in general. But I can free up some time over the weekends to look over the code, see if you have any code that is out of place or is unneeded, and I'll reformat it if I can. |
