I do mean exponential. I was just working on a problem with the natural log in it, the function was on my mind.
a nice high exponent would be the easiest way of emphasizing the differences higher up, while grouping the lower scores together. I came up with X cubed plus X to the fifth all over two:
Y = (X^3 + X^5)/2
take a look at the graph. _________________

For what it's worth, thats not what an exponential is. That would be y=e^x. Thats just me being pedantic though.
The whole point of this is to find an empirical formula that matches the desired response closest. If the formula in the original post is closest then that should be used.. |

I'm new to leagues but I don't think it's hard to figure it out. For your place out of all people just subtract it by 1 and then divide the value by all of the people in the league. Then just subtract 1 by the number you get.

Total score-
1. HellAshes (101348)
2. Muna (100)
3.JCirri (50) jk
that I woud get 0.5 points, JC would get none and HA would get 1? | Well from my calculator HA got 1 point, you get 0.66 points, and then JCirri would get 0.33. I did some rounding for those never ending decimal numbers. I rounded to the hundredths so that might be why mine are off. |

Your math is right, but you forgot to multiply by 100:
Barfo wrote: | Of course 1st place isnt goign to be worth 1 point so for the real scoring system it just multiplies that scoring by 100, so that finishing first in a song will always give 100 points. So the max possible score for one week is 400. Also all points are rounded to two decimals (rounded up) to make later calculations easier. |
Also, we'll be handling the division splits tonight and tomorrow. Once everything is set the Round 1 results will be available. For future weeks after divisions are set, results shouldn't take as long to show up. _________________

Thanks JCirri and everyone else who's working hard and burning the midnight oil to get results up, we all appreciate it very much. _________________

Honestly, with the online features in Clone Hero, it could make a league be an interesting thing. There is a competitive league going on currently, as part of "Community Songs Central", which is basically a major song authoring group. They've been doing live tournaments with commentary and everything. _________________
