I was just wondering what you guys use as a finish to the guitars you paint. I have recently done a eddie van halen guitar of sorts and i'm wondering how to both protect the paint and eliminate the edge between the layers of paint. I have used krylon clearcoat before and it always come out with a duller color and sort of rough finish... any suggestions? |

That is also typically what I use as well. The rough finish can and should be polished down to smooth out the imperfections. After you let it set for several days, you can wet sand it with a super fine grit paper and water. Use a very light touch and rinse often. This is a tricky technique to pull off, but can give really good results. _________________
