You reply as if Activision has confirmed a new game, instead of some nobody spreading rumours on the interweb.

It doesn't make sense that I read one place that the GH division is being essentially shut down, no more DLC, game over man. Then somewhere else I read that a game is being *currently* developed. By who? Why say you are ending the series if you have a game in the works? Whatever the case, marketing is afoot.

I reply in hopes that the rumor is true. For many of us on these boards, this would be really good news. I was taking the positive from it rather than the latter.

Yeah, that nobody that wrote that article has no idea what he's talking about.

And while we're on the subject, one of my sources was Activision CEO Bobby Kotick through way of Game Informer magazine. ;)

Rumor or not, it's nice to know there's a remote chance we'll see the series again. They aren't doing themselves any favors though by essentially killing the series till 2012 if this turns out true. At least keep up DLC for those that bought Warriors of Rock.

I think the Dance Central craze is over, so I dunno.

Based on what? There's over 8 million Kinect owners waiting for someone to put out more games for the thing worth playing.

Based on what? I don't have a base for my opinions/predictions other than the fact that the Kinect hype is dying, the motion control hype is dying, Dance Central hype is dying, the eventual oversatuation of dance games that are coming round the mountain, the fact that those 8 million Kinects don't own Dance Central even though DC was the most critically acclaimed Kinect game of the holiday season and even up to today.

I think the Kinect will lay dormant until E3 in which we will see other uses that are far more entertaining, leaving DC out in the cold, out of the 8 million Kinects I think DC has sold a million and change at this point, I don't the current figures but I don't think it made it to 2 million yet.

Also, you're talking about a game that hinges on the success of Kinect and the motivation for people getting off their asses, sure a million people got the picture but how many more will want to get their ass off the couch and dance? I dunno, but what I do know is that the biggest story before Kinect released was that you can't sit your ass down while playing, which speaks volumes about the folks you're counting on to buy your dance game.

So, my prediction is that DC will be on slow-burn from here on out, people will catch DC in bargain bin sales, and maybe a sudden surge of sales when the Justin Bieber DLC pack is announced, but other than that, DC's 15 minutes are up.

Edit: I misspelled Bieber and just HAAAAAD to correct that shit. lol Thanks Toymachine for the correct spelling.

There was one song in the Justin Bieber movie with some hardcore shredding
being completely serious too.

I took my girlfriend to see it for Valentine's day. It really wasn't that bad. He seems like a chill guy. I'd like some Bieber DLC honestly. It would be hilarious to say the least. Here's hoping!

Name-dropper. It makes no sense to me that one hand is announcing that the GH franchise is dead, then someone claiming inside knowledge is telling me there is a game currently in development that wasn't stopped during the above announcement. It does not make sense. If Chewbacca lived in Endor, you must acquit.

I mean, "I’ve heard rumors I’m not allowed to talk about… ummm… from… but I’m going to talk about them anyway" sounds like "Here's something I'm totally supposed to talk about".

As with all game releases, until an official announcement is made, this doesn't mean shit.

Yippee!
I love how that post just (potentially) un-death-knelled the franchise, and all the comments are back to "I hope the next one has a better engine; Warriors of Rock sucked". We were right on the brink of there not even being a next one!
Also, I'm not really satisfied until I hear something about DJ Hero; admittedly that's why I'm here anyway. Though the fact that they're updating their Facebook page again bodes well...
