I'm waiting out for the PC demo. I'd snag it on the 360, but Crysis on a console when I have a perfectly good gaming PC just seems wrong.

There was a bit of confusion over the source of the latest screenshots released. Which platform did they came from? PC?
I think they were a mix. There was one 360 and the others were PC. But honestly, the PC version hasn't been shown off yet at all. They were rendered out of PC but at console settings. The PC settings aren't being disclosed at all right now. We haven't made any screenshots yet that show the PC settings.

Speaking of showing off, here's the Minimum Required Specs for Crysis 2:

Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, with the latest Service Pack

Memory: 2Gb (Vista requires 3Gb)
Hard disk space: 9Gb
Video: NVidia 8800GT with 512Mb RAM, ATI 3850HD with 512Mb RAM, or better

...I need a new PC. Only have 2gb of RAM on this one. :P

Well the PC demo is finally out. While I feel it performs better on the PC, it does seem like a game started out on the console, rather than PC. The server browser is lacking basic stuff and it's hard as hell to get onto a server. Also there's only like 10 servers for North America, but hundreds elsewhere. I can't connect to a single North American one.

While it is just Scifi Call of Duty, it isn't more interesting than Call of Duty with the use of armor and stealth and being a more straightforward shooter. Probably won't by on launch, cause if the demo is an example of the game, it'll need some patching. Maybe wait for April or this summer when nothing else is out to grab it.

^ They ported the 360 Demo straight over to the PC to save time/resources on the PC side.

Plays quite nicely, I enjoy the pacing, although 6v6 on Pier 17 is incredibly empty.

I averaged 25fps or so on 'Gamer' settings @ 1920x1080. I play it windowed on 1280x720 for stability's sake. :P

Well that's good to hear then, though it certainly doesn't give a good example of the PC side of things for those that don't know this.

"Play the NEW Multiplayer demo NOW!"

I saw it on the Dashboard. Anyone know what's "new" or different about it? Downloading it now (1.66 GB)

Has a new map, called pier 17, which was briefly available before. There's a few core changes and fixes, and the killstreaks on the map are different. Instead of orbital strike there is a radar jammer

Yeah I find the killstreaks being unique to certain maps an interesting feature.

Definitely. It also takes 2 beatdowns to kill, and it feels like the hit detection was improved.

I'm bringing in my computer into work this week to do some fine tuning overclocking on it, on both the graphics card and the processor. I'll use this to benchmark my machine and see how it runs.

I'm definitely going to want to buy a 2nd 9600GT for my computer, found some custom drivers (for others who are interested) to enable SLI on any motherboard (even crossfire only motherboards). I was going to get an ATI 5830, but the performance compared from a single 8800GTX (GTS 250 or so) to SLI 9600GT's, is 20 fps higher on lowest FPS reads on games. This is including the first Crysis, making it run at max settings, 4x AA, at a minimum framerate of 59FPS.

Not bad for a $45 upgrade, instead of $150.

Hey, anyone still want to play the PC demo (even though the game is out)? I wanted to see how well it would preform on our computer, but the demo only supports online... and there isn't anyone online <_>. If it preforms well, I might play more than one match.

So, basically, this is an invitation to kick my ass at this game's demo .

They took down the servers for the demo, iirc.
