Tilt sensor problems? Fix it like this!!

So the other day I moved by GH1 guitar guts to a GH2 Guitar, and since the newer-model tilt sensor is built in there was no slot for the tilt sensor board. This causes problems because the sensor could be activated even if I'm just playing normally because it could be hanging upside down in there. If I'm never going to use the tilt sensor (which I won't), can I just cut the thing off by the wires?
