360 guitar on pc troubles

I have the Xbox x-plorer guitar and when I plug it into my laptop, the light will flicker on and go out. It does not work on the game whatsoever but still works fine on my Xbox.

My pc recognizes it as a guitar hero x-plorer instead of an xbox 360 controller, and any attempts at finding a driver for it have failed.

I have no idea what's wrong with it as most people say you can just plug it in and play.
