Trailblazer fans cannot catch a break with draft picks. Looks like he is out for the season with a knee injury, and needed microfracture surgery which Kidd and Stoudemire had. Not much of a trailblazer fan but I really wanted to see Oden play at the NBA level and see how he would develop. |

The Blazers can't catch a break (no pun intended). In '84 they passed on Jordan and now they finally get their guy and he is on the shelf for a whole year. But there is light at the end of the tunnel for the Trailblazers. Look how good Stoudemire is now only a couple years after the surgery. Oden wasn't gonna give them a title this year anyway. Now they can suck hard again this year and get more #1 talent to put around him and Brandon Roy. _________________

Sorry, but I'm an NBA hater. Give me a good college basketball game any day. |
Then why bother posting in this thread. Watch Phoenix, Golden State, Chicago, Cleveland, Dallas, San Antonio, Denver if you want good NBA basketball.
And while I like college ball too, they need to move the 3-point line back to NBA range. _________________

I hated Greg Oden in college. He always struck me as this big douche who just dunks the ball all the ding-dong day. Now that he can't douche away games from my Badgers (yes, douche is now a verb) I kind of wanted to see him and Durant form a rivalry...or at least a rivalry people outside of the Pacific NW actually cared about. Hopefully he'll be back next year. _________________

Why bother? Just to give my opinion, that's all. Surely I'm entitled to that. I can't seem to keep my mouth (keyboard?) shut when it comes to the NBA. I think it's amazing that people are so used to the watered-down, over-hyped, pathetic excuse for basketball that the NBA has become that they will even bother trying to defend it.
I mean, they play like 9 months out of the year, and the sports world barely even pays attention until the last month of the season. The rest of it could just be eliminated.
While it is true that some of the teams you mentioned play a more entertaining style of ball, it should be the rule rather than the exception. In fact, the league used to be like that before it became a meaningless dunk-show every night. I'm just bitter and fed-up.
Hey, at least I can admit it.
Oh, and BTW, I do agree about the 3 point line in college... although it probably wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. _________________

I personally prefer the College-game. It's more fun, more exciting, and more MONEY! I don't see a trillion NBA bracket pools. I see like 5.
And the Tim Donaghy fiasco did not help. _________________

Part of that has to do with kids leaving after 1 year of college. Everyone thinks they are the next LBJ. So they leave and find out they have 0 game. If more player were like, oh I dunno, Tim Duncan (who actually played 4 years of college ball), it wouldn't be a dunk fest. The NBA should put the same rules in for the draft that the NFL has. That would clean up the game. _________________

I say Kevin Durant was going to be rookie of the year anyways. He's that good. _________________
