what is your favorite Need for Speed game? why is it your favorite?

i'll start with Need for Speed Carbon
i like it because it has good graphics, cool cars, and the canyon races are fun when you are using the right car

Hot Pursuit and Most Wanted are the two I've played recently, and they are alright. I think the first one that was on PSOne is my favorite. The cars were different from what driving games featured then and some courses were strips of highway with oncoming traffic that you could race through agaist a friend which made for cool crashes. Good graphics for the times too.

The original. Hot Pursuit 2 was really good, too, though.

Most Wanted ('05) & UnderGround 2, easily.
Most Wanted is a tad bit better, probably, the deciding factor being lesser repetitiveness.

I said MW is less repetitive, but sure, it still is to an extent :P I didn't really mind the milestones, i was even excited for Razor's 30-minute challenge, haha. I guess i just loved the cops!
NFSU2 seemed more monotonous to me, but i can't quite tell why. I wanted to back my opinion up by having to race on the same tracks multiple times throughout the career... which is not true, as far as i figured. Perhaps it's the lack of dynamics... or the long-ass URLs... Either way, if i had to play one of the two, i'd probably pick Most Wanted.
