that happens to me
I can't force myself to sleep, i have to wait for my body to be ready to sleep
Or I just get blazed and pass out on the couch. _________________

You may be stressed, anxious, or worried about something or someone. This is completely normal, and it happens to everyone. You know how you couldn't sleep on Christmas eve or the day before a trip to Disneyworld because you knew how awesome tomorrow was gonna be? It's the same deal.
The one thing I would tell you not to do is to use sleep pills. There are plenty of other ways to fall asleep.
A great way to help fall asleep is to excersize for about 15 minutes before you go to bed. Nothing to strenuous that you work up a sweat, but just enoughso that your body feels more tired. I usually try and do push ups or sit ups.
Make sure that you turn off anything that gives off light too...your TV, computer monitor...even the green dot on your monitor PC can distract you.
And if you are stressed about something, it always helps to talk it over with somoene. That relieves some of the tension you may have, and you might literally "rest easier at night." _________________

Are you doing anything intense before bed? Don't exercise (intensely I mean...skinnywhitecomic's idea is spot on), play video games, or even watch TV a lot right before bed (unless its something boring). If it persists, buy a mild sleeping pill and see if that helps (I'll admit... I cave to using those because I get so desperate sometimes, but see if the other methods work first before talking to your doctor about a sleeping pill).
For the most part, just try doing relaxing things before bed. Reading, taking a bath or shower, or something. Oh, and don't eat right before bed. _________________

Eating right before you go to sleep can also have a direct impact on how fast you falls alseep, so if you're doing that don't, it's bad for you. |

I know this might sound crazy but this helped me a lot, for about two weeks, take a dramamine or another medication like that about 30 minutes before bed. It has NO addictive side-effects, and is a lot better than any sleeping pill. |

And if you do eat, don't eat anything with a lot of protein, eat something with a lot of carbs. It will digest slower and allows your body to rest while it digests, instead of the body feeding off the protein and making your bodily functions maintain normal speed. |

I know a lot of people are going to laugh at this but believe it or not, it does help to put you to sleep. Masturbate. Now, I don't recommend doing this every night nor would I do this so vigorously that you work up a sweat like other posters have mentioned. However, this does calm down the body, although I don't know the specifics. I have tried this before and can vouch that it works.
Don't judge. _________________
