I'm new here and I am hoping someone can help me out. The spring in my whammy bar broke and I know you can go in yourself and fix it. Can someone point me in the direction of thread or something that gives step by step instructions on how to do it. Thanks.

You should use a small rubber band in replace of the broken spring.

Yeah, thats what I figured, but is there any step by step instructions that tell me how to do it. I'm afraid if I try to do it by myself, I'll wreck the guitar

I've never had to do it, so I really wouldn't know. Wait for someone who has done it before to help you out.

I just wrap the rubber band around the base of the whammy bar and loop it to where the strap hooks onto the guitar. Works fine for me...if you want it tighter/looser then change the loops on the band.
