That's right, I'm gonna be a total noob for a second here...
I'm trying to get *Trippolette for GH1, but I have absolutely no clue how to do it. I searched around, I found next to nothing- I found that I need Gameshark, and the code I need. But, I know nothing at all about Gameshark (I checked their website- I'm still confused). How do I get Gameshark (preferably for free...), how do I install it, and how do I navigate Gameshark when I install it/Enter the code for the bonus song. I'm lost.
I know this has been asked before, many times, no doubt, but I couldn't find it.
To summarize (if you were too lazy to read the above paragraph) I need the idiot's guide to *Trippolette, going over every aspect of how to do it for a first time hacker.
Sorry to be such a noob, but I need the help. _________________

Understood. That said, say I were to buy Gameshark. How do I apply it to my game? _________________

It operates like Swapmagic, You put in in your PS2, do the stuff(It's not that complicated and you'll figure it out quickly) and then It'll ask you to open the top and put in the game or something like that. I'm not sure how Gameshark is because I'v only used Action replay, so I'm assuming that they both basically function the same. _________________

With my GameShark, I have to do this:
1) Load up GH1
2) Pick a band
3) Open the PS2 lid, replace the GH1 disc with the GS disc(DO NOT TURN OFF/RESTART PS2 YET)
4) After GS disc is in like it would be Guitar Hero, restart your console.
5) Wait for it to load
The rest is preeeeeeeettty self-explanatory. _________________

Gameshark is a cheat device, and discussion of it is permitted on ScoreHero because it is not modding your PS2. _________________

OK... So, with step 3, what do you mean with "open the lid"? Do I ljust press the button to eject the dic (probably not) or do I literally take off the top of my PS2 to replace the disk? And, when replacing the dics, do I have to do anything extra, or just take out GH and put in GS?
One last bit: A friend of mine said I might need a modded ps2 to do this... Is that true? _________________

If you want to play Trippolette, just rip the mid and vgs off of GH1 and replace it over another song. |

Open GH1 with ghex, expand songs folder, expand trippolette's folder (which I don't remember, but I think the folder was called "advharmony" or something like that), there you'll see the mid and vgs. Right click to extract the mid and vgs and replace another songs mid and vgs with it. Me I put it on GH2. It's very simple and at the core of playing custom songs, so educate yourself on how this works. _________________

Last night I went through and altered my ps2 so I could take the top off and got Gameshark. So, I tried it out. I put Guitar Hero in the ps2 by pressing the eject button and placing the disc in, then pressing ejct gin to accep the disc. Guitar Hero started up, and after I selected my band, I removed the top of my ps2 and swapped out GH with GS. So far, so good. But then, my ps2 wouldn't take Gameshark. The first time i tried it, the ps2 wouldn't even spin the disc to read it, the second time I tried it, the ps2 couldn't recognize the disc. What am I doing wrong?
If it helps, my ps2 is V4. _________________

It says Gameshark isn't a ps2 format disc. _________________
