MIDI Problems - Sustained Notes?

Okay here's the issue. I'm working on a bass part right now, and it keeps showing up in GHEX with sustained notes where there are none.

For example, in this note chain [YBOBY-R-Y-R-Y-R-Y-R-Y], the second B holds throughout the entire sequence and then some. If I delete it, then the first B holds the whole time.

If I delete that, the last B in the previous phrase holds through that phrase AND the one I used as an example. I've tried erasing the whole section using 'Make Selection Silent' in Anvil Studio, but as soon as I put another B in, the problem is right back.

Anyone else had this happen?

de4, it must be that you're putting a longer duration on the note. See if you can find the number of ticks or pulses for the note; if it's above 160 it will be a sustain, so you'll want to make sure this note is less than 160.

Of course, all of the above depends on the fact that your midi file is based on 480 ticks per beat

Yeah, general rule is that every note longer than the length of a triplet note will be sustained.
