Guitar Hero: Smash Hits
http://smashhits.guitarhero.com

MSRP:
Xbox 360/Playstation 3 - $59.99
Wii - $49.99
PS2 - $39.99

Smash hits is a compilation game featuring full-band songs GH 1 through 3 (including GH80s) and 1 GHA song.

Game will feature Expert+ and classic GH characters...this apparently also means ONLY classic characters, which for some is cool.

Neversoft is releasing chunks of the setlist one week at a time, where players get to vote which classic game's songs are revealed. 48 songs in total for the entire setlist. Much to our dismay, some of the masters used will be Live versions

Week of April 13: GH1 songs revealed
Week of April 20th: GH2 songs revealed
Week of April 27th: GH3 songs revealed
Week of May 4th: GH80s songs revealed
May 6th: Full setlist revealed, including 1 GHA song

Some of the tiering has been released via previews, but is in no way final since the preview builds of the game only have 28 or so songs. It also seems that they are using the GHM engine for this game since the star progression bar is in, as is the new multiplayer style and vox system.

Confirmed Setlist

Guitar Hero I
- Blue Oyster Cult - Godzilla
- Boston - More Than A Feeling
- Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water
- Franz Ferdinand - Take Me Out
- Helmet - Unsung (Live)
- Incubus - Stellar
- Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock and Roll
- Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
- Pantera - Cowboys From Hell (Live)
- Queen - Killer Queen
- Queens of the Stoneage - No One Knows
- The Donnas - Take it Off
- The Exies - Hey You
- White Zombie - Thunderkiss '65

Guitar Hero II
- Alice in Chains - Them Bones
- Avenged Sevenfold - Beast and the Harlot
- Danzig - Mother
- Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
- Iron Maiden - The Trooper
- Jane's Addiction - Stop!
- Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son
- Lamb of God - Laid to Rest
- Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird
- Motley Crue - Shout Out At The Devil
- Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
- Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name
- Reverend Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout
- Rush - YYZ
- Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin' On a Hole in a Paper Heart
- The Police - Message in a bottle\
- The Sword - Freya
- Warrant - Cherry Pie
- Wolfmother - Woman

Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the 80s
- Anthrax - Caught In A Mosh
- Extreme - Play With Me
- Judas Priest - Electric Eye
- Poison - Nothin' But A Good Time
- Ratt - Round and Round
- Twisted Sister - I Wanna Rock

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock
- AFI - Miss Murder
- Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames
- Heart - Barracuda
- Kiss - Rock and Roll All Nite
- Living Colour - Cult of Personality
- Pat Benetar - Hit Me With Your Best Shot
- Priestess - Lay Down
- Slayer - Raining Blood

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
- Aerosmith - Back in the Saddle

So far none of the Bonus songs (other than TTFAF) from any of the games have been announced, which is a little disconcerting.

Furthermore, any and all mundane TTFAF discussion is lame and should be avoided.

Hey.

Put "Do not mention the fact that TTFAF X+ drums will be insane, it's been said an assload of times and it's incredibly annoying" in giant bold letters on the OP.

Thx.

UPDATE: The leaked setlist is 100% real...including Back in the Saddle.

Oh, god, I just came at the thought of doing these songs on vox.

That list of GH1 songs is... pure win. PURE WIN. Not anything less than 100% of it is win.

They should have replaced I Love Rock and Roll with Cheat on the Church. If they did, it would have made it even more win.

I'm kind of disappointed they didn't include Cheat on the Church as well.

It was sort of a flagship song for the game as it was from the winners of the Be a Guitar Hero contest.

You may be misinterpreting that. We don't vote on which songs get included. All of the songs are already chosen. We vote on which group gets revealed.

This was mentioned in the OP. But as Manfred said, its not that we get to chose...we get to chose when we see what songs they chose for us. A little disappointing, considering Neversoft weren't even in the picture until GH3 so how could they know what were and weren't the "smash hits" of the first 3 games.

This will definitely be the best GH game ever.

Ever.

Seriously. Full band play on probably the best songs from each GH game is just... excellent. >_>

Um, where's Crossroads?

Must be in master track hell *grumble grumble*. No way they wouldn't put it in here.

They had to leave some songs for Guitar Hero: Smash Hits 2, didn't they?

Seriously, I'd be surprised if we didn't get a sequel to this (and if we do, it better have some damn GHA songs).

I liked the idea suggested in the other topic about releasing some of the other songs from the earlier games as DLC. That way the game would slowly work its way to (near) completion.

That GH1 setlist is a basically a listing of my favs. Still this game will kick ass but everyone will moan about certain songs not being included. You know, the usual.

I vote for GH2 at every chance I get as that's my fav GH game. Still alot of people seem to like GH3 better....
