- Understandable. The hosts I play with usually allow it, but this might make it easier on the town.

Also, I hope you're not ruling out modkills at all... because in some circumstances, these may be necessary.
Oh, and for roles:
Catch-22 Vigilante: Can only kill a target at night if he has already used his ability to kill a target at night.
Double Vanilla: Has twice the night actions of a regular Vanilla.

I will join, but the rules need some revision especially the whole who's allowed to talk and post during what times. I might have missed it, but also make sure to have a list or roles and their abilities in the OP for all to see. Finally, make a tally of remaining roles and how many of said role are alive (not identity of course).
If this goes well, I have always had an interest in hosting a mafia game, so sign me up for the next host if this goes well.

- Well, posting at night should be banned. I do agree with allowing Mafia and possibly Masons to communicate during Day, but it depends on the host.
- There's a list of basic roles in most Mafia Games in the OP. It's a flash link.
- I actually think that naming all of the roles can be a good or bad idea. Let's say roles aren't named and the host includes four cops in a 15-player game (each with limits, like X-Use or Flavor Cop, but still). On one hand, the town might think no one would put 4 cops in a game so one or more is Scum. That's good for Scum. On the other hand, say there's no role list and it's Night. Scum wouldn't want to try and kill the Cop right away, because if there is a Doctor, Bodyguard or God forbid ELITE Bodyguard, he will probably be on the Cop. This is good for Town.
With revealed roles, it makes it easier for Town since Mafia cannot fakeclaim without a counterclaim. But at the same time, both sides should be kept on the edge of their seat - what if it turns out one of the players is a TOWN Cop with reports on some of the Scum, when Scum thinks they've killed the only cop(s)?

Meh, sign me up. The rules seem a bit complex but I'm sure I can get them down!
Edit: Yay for 900 posts! (Oh I'm sorry, were we not supposed to edit posts? Becuase if nobody has replied after a post, the author could edit it with no-one knowing, in theory...  ) |

This is correct. I would prefer if you not edit your posts at all once the game starts, just to avoid any misunderstandings. We will understand if you misspeleld something in haste. Just try not to be TOO sloppy.
Inflatable Pie explained the reasoning behind my rules pretty well, during the day, mafia and masons will NOT be able to communicate with each other because this gives a somewhat unfair advantage IMO. Daylight exposes all...
Also, don't worry about forgetting this, you will all be sent PMs when the game starts informing you of your role/abilities.

In addition, this game is based on peoples' words and explanations. There are certain "tells" that can help town find scum, and by editing the post, scum can quickly fix any slips. So, just like contacting each other during Day or not part of a group, it's on the honor system, but still discouraged.
