Somewhat random guess for me. I definitely could've spent a lot of time trying to figure this out, but I forgot about this until today and didn't really have that much time. Plus, I'm pretty sure I counted the chords as either 2 or 3 separate notes instead of just one, but I don't think my guess was that good anyway. Can't wait to see how we all did!

So here I get to explain my fail for the week.

So at first, I had counted the notes, and had 2073 (bumped down to 2049 because of the post JC had posted) with 80 chords. This would have gotten me second on PS3.

But then I got the WONDERFUL idea to use the score! Not a bad idea actually, and it only took me a day. So I used the score at many parts of the song to do this. At the last point before the end of the song that I had planned to use, I knew the score was x5324x at 1:58 of the video, and given that I knew there were about 2000 notes in the song, that would be a score of 400000, which half way through the song is 200000, so it was 25324x (last number doesn't matter). After that, I took the number of ticks I had (roughly 1100), chords (53 2 notes and 2 3 notes) and the amount it takes to get up to 4x (2950 in 29 notes) and got 226790 (lets call that 226800 for dividing purposes.) and got 1134 single notes before 1:58. 1134+53+2+29=1218.

Next, I took the end of the song and saw that the score was x3xx6x. Almost a guarantee that the first number is a 4, so the only meaningful unknowns where the middle two numbers. Because this contest is a "closest without going over" one, I assumed the numbers were zero, so the final score was 430060. Taking out the 253240, I got 176820. That means that the score post-1:58 is 176820. There were 15 2 note and 5 three note chords I counted, so I took out those points and about 1220 in ticks, so that made it 166600 in single notes. That is 833. 833+15+5=853.

853+1218=2071. Hey that's a second place score on PS3. How did you get 2150, oh master eddaket?

Well that's an easy one, I don't know how to do math apparently. I had 1270 notes before 1:58 for some reason, and I don't know why. I think I didn't count the chords and then I did or something I DON'T KNOW. But 1270+853=2123, my lower bound for my final answer.

Now the reason why I put 2150 rather than 2123 is because I proceeded to count the notes after 1:58 as well, and got 2163 total and then I averaged them (sorta. I put more emphasis on the counting number) and got 2150. If I had done the same with my 2071 number, I would have counted there to be 2101 notes, and probably put 2085 or something like that, which would have sucked.

If I had gone with what my brain was telling me, I would have put the lower bound in and got second...
