I've got a standard Squier Strat, and a Marshall MG30DFX, and it barely (if at all) registers pinch harmonics. I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's the pickups and not the amp, and if so, what pickups would work better? _________________

Yes, it's the pickups that are the problem. I'm not sure if they can be used on a Strat or not, but the EMGs I use register pinches pretty good. In the meantime, just try to find the spot where they do sound every time. If you have more than one pickup, try using just one. I've had success with that when I use a preset that doesn't pick them up as well _________________

I have a standard telecaster, and have no trouble hitting pinch harmonics. I'm making a possibly unwarranted assumption here, and i apologize if i'm incorrect, but are you sure you don't just need more practice? _________________

I hit them perfectly every time on the 6th fret (4th string), and 3rd fret (6th string), and they don't work anywhere else. _________________

Different frets/strings have different sweet spots. Search for it, it's there. Flip the pickup switch down and turn your tone knobs up, it should come out a little better. Don't expect a Zakk Wylde squeal, but you can still get it to come out with some effort. I've also heard thicker picks bring them out more. _________________

It could be you. Try it on another guitar. _________________
