Anybody going to Download this year?
I'm driving up there for 3-day camping, and can't wait to see AC/DC and Megadeth so I can tick them off my 'See Before I Or They Die' list.
Also interested to see Them Crooked Vultures. |

I'm currently un-decided between Download and Sonisphere.
I went to Sonisphere last year, and loved it. Plus Maiden, Slayer, Motley Crue, and Alice Cooper just makes me grin like a madman.
However, my GF is more interested in Download, but only for Bullet For My Valentine at the moment. >.<.
New announcements on monday from what I hear. _________________

Yeah, Rage Against The Machine now confirmed and Aerosmith. I'm glad I can see Rage now, seeing as I won't be going to that free gig they're doing.
I will probably go to Sonisphere as well, seeing as I must see Iron Maiden (I seem to be on holiday every time they play here, the last couple of years). |

Hearing that Aerosmith are headlining... interests me. I really want to see them at least once, but I *really* don't want to go to Download.
The decision is clearly made though: I definitely can't afford a whole weekend and they don't seem to do day tickets. _________________

I think you win with your Warped Tour, to be honest. _________________

When there are only two bands to see in Warped and at least 6 for me in Download so far, Download really wins lol I thought the selection for Warped this year was pretty bad compared to other bands that have been on it before. |

Thing is, due to the RATM single-christmas dealio, they've suddenly becamse a lot more insanely popular. Not surprising.
And Aerosmith and AC/DC are like, two of the biggest classic rock bands ever. I agree Megadeth should be higher up, but they just don't have the record sales that any of the 3 other bands do.
Sonisphere have announced 7 more bands:
Gallows
Fightstar
Funeral For A Friend
Madina Lake
Apocolyptica
Skunk Anansie
Family Force 5
Ok. I'm all for music diversity and stuff, but I really can't understand who Sonisphere are trying to please. At sonisphere, there are no other stages with main bands playing at the same time. I dont see how the people there for Slayer and Fear Factory will enjoy Placebo and Madina Lake, and the same for people who are there for BMTH and Gallows will enjoy Alice Cooper and The Cult. To me, it just seems they're trying to hit too many bases at once. Download looks the much stronger lineup at the moment. Shame too, because Sonisphere has some really kickass bands, but overall (for me) quite weak lower bands. _________________
