Wow... I would never imagine this was going to happen...

I mean, Mr. Portnoy? Wow! Awesome! And while I think he won't replace The Rev, he'll change a little bit A7X sound for good. It'll be nice to hear him playing with A7X.

I was put off of A7X after their lastest album which I thought was an utter flop in every way, but with Mike Portnoy on drums? Goodness, I'll have to check that out. I hope to see them really utilize his talents. I'm hoping they go abit more aggressive with the next one.

Ooooohh... Sounds good, but I don't know how that's gonna mix. Maybe because I really only listen to him on DT, but this might be him branching out.

I honestly hope Portnoy adjusts to Avenged Sevenfold's style, not the other way around. Prog-Metal level wankery has no place in music like that.

That's amazing.

I'm really happy they're still playing, even without Rev.

He's branched out plenty before with Transatlantic, Liquid Tension Experiment, O.S.I., Yellow Matter Custard, Hammer of the Gods, Cygnus and the Sea Monsters, and also Neal Morse (with a few more aswell).

The man is truely a virtuoso at his instrument, and I'm positive he'll be able to adjust to the sound of A7X while still influencing the album. I can see nothing but good from this.

This is a rather intersting crossover. However, I'm not sure if The Rev is replaceable. I hope this album turns out well. I like DT, but it seems like A7X changed their style on their previous album, and I prefer their old style from City of Evil and before.

well M. Shadows, in an interview, said this album would be darker and more progressive, so i guess having mike portnoy as their drummer would at least confirm the second point. haha

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure nothing can be darker than A Little Piece of Heaven.

i agree, there can def. be darker, however i admit that song is full of win, and pretty twisted and dark.

well the album is scheduled for release in july, so i guess i'll just have to sit here patiently until then

Okay, let me fix that...

Call me crazy, but I'm pretty sure the metal like A7X's style can't get much darker than A Little Piece of Heaven.
