http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpPmCzjq1h8 - Beats and Pieces 5* first time ever
So I'd gotten the game 9 days ago as of this thread's creation - by day 4, I'd 5*'d Rockit (three tries) and Groundhog (only one try). Neither were anywhere close to sightreads though. Days 5 and 6 i maybe played one song each, and day 7 I did an exchange at gamestop for a less faulty controller. B&P jumped from 2 to 4* after only one run, and the next day I 5*'d it.
I also got the last two expert 5*s on the guitar setlist that day too, you should know which ones I mean.
Also, as an extra thing, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwbfzJ5eFiM - 4th run of satisfaction/elements of life
Prior history with the game: one play attempt on a super laggy best buy display with a faulty controller. I played everything on hard when I got the game. Soon I should have the expert 5* achievement, as I don't have any difficult 5*s remaining. _________________

Nice job! Keep working at it and maybe you'll end up being one of the top DJ Hero players. Once you get the hang of it, it becomes super easy. Even songs like Rockit and Groundhog. |

Thanks man! I know there are certainly some parts I'm never going to hit (mostly bullshit scratch sections) but I still have a lot of skill ramping up to do. Crossfading and spikes are easier than I thought they'd be. _________________

Yeah, alot of people are scared of those spikes at first, but they're really not that bad. Even the ones on rockit arent that bad now that i've figured it out.
Once you're able to combo rockit, it's an amazing feeling.
Scratches on the other hand just take practice. After playing enough you start to get the hang of it and like I said before, it becomes super easy. |

What mDawg said pretty much, and welcome to "the fray" lol.
Nah, but in all seriousness, glad to see more people on the DJ Hero section of the site, and don't worry, the "hardest" mixes aren't that hard after getting a bit used too, so you'll do fine
Spikes are easy and actually quite fun once you master them, scratching though, is a little bit harder to tackle (even I have a few minor setbacks because of some scratching sections ). _________________

Oh yeah. Faulty controller funfest and rage when it combo breaks during/after scratching and rewinding. _________________

But the other times when you are having a good session & squeezing out 1st places by 1000points it's a blast! Congrats on insta-shredding the FG 5 star. _________________

Technically i didn't 5* EVERYTHING just yet, but with all the ones mentioned in the OP it's just a matter of grinding through everything. _________________
