If you like Sigúr Rós, shoegaze or ambient metal, you should probably listen to this album. Good luck finding it legally though, I gather that it's quite new, and it is rather obscure.

Seriously it's a good album. (For those incapable of reading, it's Alcest's Les Voyages De L'Ame. Not sure what good more text will do illiterate forum goers but I figure they must have some way to deal with the inherent problems.)

Compared to Souvenirs d'un Autre Monde, would you consider this to be a better album? I really liked that album, so I'd definitely be down to check out Les Voyages de L'ame.

Neutral Milk Hotel - In The Aeroplane Over The Sea
Green Day - Dookie
Portugal. The Man - The Satanic Satanist
Said The Whale - New Brighton (only a 4-song EP but it counts. :p)
Taylor Swift - Speak Now
Houkago Tea Time - Houkago Tea Time II

Those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. There's probably more, but there are so many more albums with just a single song that I don't like that much that ruins it for me.

PS if you haven't already, while we're on the subject of Ambient/Post Rock-black metal the new Agalloch album is absolutely superb.

Great choices. Judas Priest is another one of my favorite bands. Alter Bridge is cool too, I like the song Come To Life.

Jukebox The Ghost - Everything Under The Sun
Van Halen - Woman And Children First
Van Halen - Diver Down
Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix

Other albums I know are let down by 1 or 2 songs (mostly the Van Halen albums)

Like anyone would know about a Japanese new-wave synth album from 1979.

Just heard about Dodecahedron's debut LP, and I love it all after only one listen. Check it out if you like Deathspell Omega or Blut Aus Nord.

I prefer the self-titled, personally.

I forgot about Animals as Leaders first album. So I'll do a summary judging by what I have posted in this thread so far...bearing in mind I may feel differently about a couple of them now so won't include them:

Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien
Joe Satriani - Flying in a Blue Dream
Joe Satriani - Crystal Planet
Megadeth - Peace sells...but who's buying?
Megadeth - Rust in Peace
System of a Down - Toxicity
All that Remains - The fall of Ideals
Trivium - The Crusade
The Human Abstract - Nocturne
Protest the Hero - Fortress
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Alter Bridge - One day remains
Alter Bridge - Blackbird
Alter Bridge - ABIII

Thats all I got
