King Crimson's stuff is pretty challenging.

Yeah, I love King Crimson, have you heard the song Red by King Crimson, it is the best, but I could imagine it would be impossible to
chart for all the time signature changes on each instrument but maybe
I could just leave it at 4/4. |

I've found that, unless you're charting odd time signatures with a guitar pro file, the time signature option is completely useless. Sometimes I realized I changed the time signature after completing the chart. _________________

1st of all: fast playing != solo. I could name lots of Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, and Batio songs that include many shred parts which aren't solos.
2nd: a lot of metal songs are hard because of sweeps and the speed of them. Other genres have some real hard stuff that isn't noticed. For example: bluegrass. "Hog bitch stomp", by Buckethead, is a collection of very hard bluegrass songs. There are tons of very difficult songs by country players, such as Chet Atkins, involving hybrid picking. _________________

Aye definitely Atkins, though I have to say.
Sweep picking really isn't that hard once you've got it down. Hell I find stuff like Petrucci's Glass Prison Arpeggios to be more of a bitch due to the odd alternate picking pattern.
With that being said, basically anything by Petrucci is sure to just murder you

Also if you wanna get into acoustic guitar, look up some stuff by Andy Mckee and artists like that if you wanna get blown away.
And then of course there's acoustic metal guitarists ala. Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth/Bloodbath) and Fredrik Akesson (Opeth/Arch-Enemy).

Try singing and playing the verse to disposable heroes by Metallica. That's tough. lol
Look up some Shawn Lane stuff. He was insanely good. I can't imagine him not having a super fast shred solo that is nearly impossible to play. _________________

Yeah, i love Metallica, but I am not much of a singer and there is no way my band could play Metallica, because my drummer (Luke) is absolute crap, and our bassist (Josh) is still learning, but I can still play Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboard, and i am an expert at all those instruments, and I know how to play at least 250 songs, not remembering exactly all of them. |

How about Take no Prisoners, Poison was the Cure & Five Magics by megadeth?
Actually add:
The glass prison (Dream Theater)
Technical difficulties
Basically anything by The Human Abstract or Protest the Hero
to that list.
Actually whilst I remember...anything by Scar Symmetry (if you're going for a full cover with solo's included). A parenthesis in Eternity is nuts. _________________
