When WoR came out I tried to do this on Easy Bass. Sadly, in 3 days time I had every song consecutively FCed, sightread, except for Chemical Warfare, which I had wisely saved for last. As I FCed up to the fast part on the first try, I would say that I got 92 FC streak, whatever that works out to in notes, and points, and damn near had the SRFGFC. That was a LONG three days of playing though.
A couple of questions/issues with your idea:
1) you said it had to be on one difficulty, which is cool, I like that breakdown, but would you consider allowing people to continue on to a new difficulty if they got a FSFC to continue their streak? IE getting an EFSFC as a single streak then going for MFSFC saving Metallica for last?
2) You said that not switching consoles does not count, but this is a bit unfair, as that means a PS3 player could only do GH3-WoR, a PS2 player could only do GH1-BH, an Xbox player couldn't do GH1 or 80s. Also, some people have some games on some systems and some on others. I would say that the rule should be amended to no mixing and matching for the same GAME. Restrict it to one console per game and that works better.
3) Only Expert Bass? That seems limited, but I would suggest H/X bass for some variety, some of us just HATE purple notes.
4) Is this only GH games? Does this include 360 exclusives on GH2? Does it include BH? What about handhelds?
5) Do the games have to be on their original disks, or can you play imported songs in a different engine, ie play all the imported songs in WoR?
6) Any interest in allowing RB games?
Anyone know if there is a mode/way to track consecutive notes hit in WoR? Like maybe some sort of tracker in the random party mode thing?
This is a REALLY cool idea, and I might just have to crank out some E/M note streaks for fun. I have Thanksgiving break coming up and all soon.

Just view stat screen after each FC and write down # of notes and score. That's really the only way.

If you're talking about the difficulty lists, I would say yes, all of the songs in a chain need to be on the same difficulty. Otherwise there are too many combinations to keep track of and it's too hard to compare them.
If you're talking about the categories in the hall of fame, then no. If your chain makes the board in more than one category it will be counted in all that apply. So if you get the highest note streak and highest score in one chain, you would get on both lists.

If someone manages to do that, I would have no problem creating a new category for it. But the requirement would be you must complete the FSFC before crossing difficulties, otherwise as I said above there will be too many combinations to keep track of. I would say you can skip songs that have broken, unhittable notes.

I didn't mean you can't switch consoles between songs, I just meant you can't start a chain on your Xbox, pause the game and go miss a bunch on PS2, then come back to Xbox and pick up where you left off. Any miss at any time for any reason ends the streak.

Ok, I'll do Hard and Expert. But I'd rather stay away from easy/medium bass and drums/vocals.

Good questions, I should have addressed this. Yes, it is only GH. To make it fair let's NOT include the 360 exclusives, BH, and handhelds. I'll delete my chain that used Possum Kingdom.

Another good question. Let's keep everyone on the same engine and say no importing.

Not really. I don't have any of the games and don't really like them. If someone wants to maintain a similar rivalry on the RB side feel free to do so. |

Edit: it looks like you made some kind of mistake adding up your score, but I can't figure out what. It adds up to 2,660,679. I'm going to assume the individual song scores are correct and you just punched something in wrong while adding it up.

lol my bad! The scores are indeed correct, just an addition error adding them up. Anyway, I had another chain of 5 which included TWIE and 3's & 7's, but failed on can't be saved somehow o_O Oh well. This is fun!

Quick question, is this limited to guitarists? Or can us drummers jump in on this?
I'll probably try this in the coming week on guitar either way but I'd be really curious to try and do it on drums.
