I know. I was about to ask.
if the original name was 5 characters and artist was 10, what happens if we go over?
Or under? do we have to fill in spaces? |

I hadn't thought about that. Since he didn't mention anything like that, I just assumed you could put whatever you wanted. _________________

Nod, 90% of the time usually you need to stick wit same amount and what not.
Ill fiddle wit it a bit.
I can load it up on an emulator, runs good enough to check track lists. |

That works excellent! Just changed two song titles, burned a new disc, no problems at all!
Excellent job! I'm very happy right now _________________

Honestly I'm not sure what the limit is. They don't have to be the same length but I would definetly not go over the longest song/artist name. Longest song is "Trippin' on a Hole in a Paper Heart" Artist I think is "The Allman Brothers Band" or "Rage Against The Machine" There is a limit in the program of 40 characters for song and 80 for artist. I just picked those values. Anyone who experiments more with it let me know and I can adjust it.

Well, longest band name would be Honest Bob and the Factory to Dealer Incentives. _________________

I would avoid going over those sizes unless you want to experiment. The size of the song/artist name is stored with the actual names. But that doesn't mean there isn't a limit somewhere else. So 36ish for songs and 47ish for artist. |

for testing since shout at the devil was first,
i changed the song name to 12345678901234567890 and artist same to 40.
no load.
this is on emu mind you. goes to main screen, i hit quickplay, and it hangs.
Im trying now with only adding 1 more char then is there.
maybe track name is more important then artist. ill narrow it down in a bit |

For those of you with issues, did you hit "Save" more than once inside the application? I was having issues with that but I resolved it (or so I hope) make sure you have the lastest download. I've done testing on the emulator and on the normal PS2 using the harddisk. But no burned images since I don't have a modded PS2. The sample video was from the PS2 using the harddisk. |

Yes I hit save more than once. Should I re-do it just hitting save once when I'm done?
I've got a few more discs I can spare if it gets this working. |

If you redownload the application you shouldn't have that problem any more. But if you want to be safe edit all the names you want and hit save only once. Then to test the file close the application re-open it and load the file again and see if it looks right. If that doesn't work. PM me with the songs your are changing and what you are changing them to so I can try it and see if something is going wrong.
Also, if you haven't been reading, be careful of the lengths of the names. I'm not sure how much of the character set the game supports. Obviously any characters in other song/band names ("Mr. Fixit" "Who Was In My Room Last Night?" "Sweet Child O' Mine") so theres at least ".", "'", and "?" as well as some band names like "Mötley Crüe" have special characters. |
