I've been wanting to buy a second controller, just in case my main one breaks. However, I have no idea which one to invest in because I seem to be getting mixed reviews on Gamestop.com, Amazon, etc. I was thinking about the GH5 guitar, but people were complaining about an issue with the strum bar "double strumming" or something like that. I looked at the reviews for the Les Paul as well, and as I expected, there were many a complaint about the detachable neck and how notes are sometimes dropped at random. I decided to ask this on Scorehero because I just don't know which controller to get. I want one that will hold up for a good couple of years, and I also want one that feels good in my hands. WoR controller is out of the question because I hate how far you can push down the frets. Also, the strum bar is way too stiff and it's very difficult to strum on a WoR controller compared to the others.

The xplorer is the best if you don't care about score, otherwise out of what I've used I really like the WT one.

Xplorer seems the best one
Les Paul needs to be wired to avoid all problems
WTar need switches to be changed
GH5tar is very good
WoRtar is a hit or miss. mines work good, some failed

they all have their problems. what I highly suggest is a break in procedure. dont go full retard on the first days. play on Medium/Hard couple of days before going full retard.

I've never had any overstrumming problems, but it looks like whatever guitar you use, you're going to come across problems. What console are you on?

If you're not on ps3, the Les Paul is the way to go, as long as you dont mind doing some preventative tweaking. Hardwiring the neck to the base is easier than it sounds, and double strum issues can be fixed with a small piece of box tape.

I think I'm still torn between the Les Paul and Fender guitars.

Fenders are good too. All rock band guitars have AMAZING fret buttons, but the strum bar suffers..

The Wired Les Paul has been my best guitar by far.

If you take the time to wire together a Les Paul, they will probably last you longer than an Xplorer. I've had cable problems with my Xplorers over the years.

I've been using the GH5 guitar since GH5 came out. Only in the last month I had an issue where the green button wasn't maintaining contact on the inside. Since the necks are interchangeable on 5Tars I just swapped out the neck. I've never had a problem with the strummer, in fact the strength of the strummer is why I prefer that model. I too always keep a spare or two just in case, but I'm still on my original strummer and only second neck since the game came out.
