i highly doubt there are many Kubrick fans on here, especially with the average age of most of you guys.

I'm a Kubrick fan. Then again I'm a film major, so my opinion probably doesn't count. I took a whole class on Kubrick and his films. It was damn interesting. My professor went to high school with Kubrick. Yes, that makes him really old. He had a ton of knowledge about everything, though. Good stuff. _________________

I doubt he cares, if he hasn't bothered to proofread anything he's typed thus far. _________________

I'm quite a large Kubrick fan myself, with A Clockwork Orange being probably my second favorite movie of all time. Stanley Kubrick was quite the intelligent man, and I've always wanted to take classes on him/his movies. |

Yeah, I noticed that right after typing it. However, I didn't feel like editing it so it was a blank post, because that would be stupid, waste space, and get Matt pissed off at me. _________________

Ohio State. It's not the best place to get a film degree, but I'll continue on at grad school. Maybe I'll just go into teaching film. Getting into the industry has always been a dream of mine, though. _________________

check in with leigh scott at his myspace page www.myspace.com/leighscott. he went to USC flim school and works for a low-budget horror film company and he's constantly helping young filmmakers who don't want to go the Sundance route get their feet in the door. Ohio State is a good film school from what i hear. you'll have to let me know how it pans out for you. what are you planning on doing? Directing, writing, cinematography? _________________

I love writing. I've only really written critiques/commentary on film/film theory so far. I'd like to get into screenwriting, though. But I'd really like to do anything in the film industry.
I'm going to Sundance next year. And if I can get my study abroad all figured out, I'm going to go to Cannes and hopefully work at or at least attend the film festival. _________________

that's very ambitious of you. i'm going to avoid film school altogether and try to make it on my own merits as a side project from law school. if all else fails, i could go work in the legal department of a film company, lol
my recommendation is just to film something and get your work out there like robert rodriguez! FTW _________________

Yeah, we'll see. I don't have much experience with film production. I made a few short films in high school, but nothing exciting. I'd like to write a screenplay or two before I graduate. I don't have any idea how I'd get a screenplay recognized by anyone, though. _________________

you have to start small, but if you've got talent and a little luck (check out "My Date With Drew" i hate drew barrymore but this film was genius) you'll get picked up by lionsgate at the least. you just gotta shop yourself around, but all this coming from someone who has very limited experience with the real film industry to someone who's actually going to film school...hell, they probably teach you all this in class...i'll quit before i make a fool of myself. _________________
