|
|
What do you guys do to set off your SP? I usually can't reach the button to trigger it based on the way I hold the guitar(working on that, though. Also working on getting down alt strumming), but when I tilt the guitar, I seem to have an issue hitting the next note or two.
Oh the dilemma.
So what do you guys do? Tilt or button? |

I tilt because it has a chance of making me miss a note while reaching for the button, unless there are no notes, would make me miss notes no matter how hard I tried, also, if I am activating after a pause it forces me to trigger SP early, just because of the way I hold the guitar. |

I've always been a tilter. I always end up hitting the Start button whenever I tried hitting the Select button, so it's always been tilt for me.
Plus, it makes me feel cooler when I play holding the guitar out like that. _________________

I use tilt, but my guitar has a VERY finnicky tilt. Sometimes it activates and sometimes it takes two tries (tilt up, tilt back down, tilt back up). I am half tempted to install a thumb star-power button. _________________

I always use tilt, but I also have had trouble with getting tilt to activate sometimes. I'm not yet to the point where I'm going for ultra-high scores, so I don't need pinpoint accuracy yet. If I did, I'd probably use the button instead if possible. _________________

unfortunately ...tilt.... With my picking method (guitar pick), i cannot hit the select button without screwing up.
I hate using the tilt. It rarely triggers exactly when i want it to..often it does not trigger at all. There is nothing more frustrating than having a great run botched because your stupid tilt trigger elected not to function.
..thus I have been toying with the idea of soldering in a foot switch select trigger... |

It sounds like this is a common problem. The new SGs activate TOO easily. You tilt it 5 degrees up too quickly and the SP activates. Also, the strum bar seems to be TOO springy. It sometimes double strums if you strum down too hard on it. I hope they fix the GH2 controller because I don't want to buy a second controller that is like that... _________________

I tilt, but due to more constant delays/shaking guitar to get it to activate, star power button is being installed is in the very near future. _________________

I tilt, except on the occassion where an SP needs to happen almost immediately. Then I try the button with the palm of my hand. I try not to use the button since most of the time, I strum when I hit the button and it kills my combos. _________________

The button naturally rests under my wrist, so I press.

It varies, i used to always press until i played Trippolette, in that song i found it much easier to tilt, and now i pretty much do a mixture of the two, usually button press on long notes before fast parts. Tilt is finciky alright. |
