Picture says a thousand words (more like a thousand play-throughs!)
This was definitely the hardest for me to 5 star, next hardest was Texas Flood. Things finally started coming together on cfh today and I increased my best score by 40k in one night _________________

Congrats!
Weird thing is, I got 5* on CFH a long time ago, but I still can't even 4* Texas Flood! There must be something wrong with me. |

Guess I'm a good blues player with 5 plastic buttons because I 5 starred TF, but I can't even consistently pass CBfH. |

I've been playing Guitar hero for about 6-7 weeks (I dont have PS2 but my friend has it so I play it over there a lot). As of about a week ago the only song I was yet to 5 star was Texas Flood. My high score was around 144k, and today I played it and got..... 151256.... about 250 points away from 5 star and guitar god. I hate life.
As for CFH I passed it the second time I played it- I had played it a lot on hard then the second time I tried it through on Expert I passed. It wasn't easy to five star it but it wasn't too difficult either. I just got 320k on it today.
I hate texas flood. |

I honestly don't know why people think Texas Flood is harder to get good scores on than CFH. I think the CFH is harder than TF's "main solo". I can keep a x4 most of the way through that. Also, I think the YBYRRYBYRR or whatever the hell that part is during the verses in CFH is harder to consistently nail than most of TF's riffs. Also, the bridge of CFH... need I say more? JHetfield will attest to that fact that it's hard to keep a combo going through that part. I'm rambling, but Texas Flood is easily 5-starrable. _________________

The only thing is that in CFH if you can get down the main riff and hit it fairly consistantly, when you get star power you can get a huge 8x going there and just rack in the points. Yes it's really tough to hit the YBYRR consistently, but even if you miss it it's still easier to keep longer note streaks going in CFH than in Flood (in my opinion at least). In Flood, there are so many spots that I can hit, but the rhythms are so strange and some of the note combos and just everything are so tough that even if you can nail them all, it's so hard to get them all in a single round to be able to rack in a high score.
Any little tips on five starring the flood? I think my star power useage is pretty good and I guess I just need to play it more until eventually I get it. Given that I was about 250 points away I know I can get the five star, but it's still frustrating. Oh yeah, and on ScoreHero I'm the top non-five star, which adds to the frustration.
I have one more week til I'm off to college to try and get the Flood and become a guitar god, otherwise I'm just gonna say screw it and get ready for GH2. |

For Texas Flood, the first star power is imperitive for the "optimal star path" and if you can get the fast oranges before the main solo that will inflate your score as well, but those aren't necessary. The optimal star path is given in many other threads if you need to reference it. Other than that, I would just say practice the slides (BYRG) and the easier riffs in the song. I always try to have at least 100,000 when the RO, GB series of chords starts. Try to get as much of the main solo as you can and then use your star power before the chords at the end. Good luck. _________________

I'm in the same exact boat you are. I have a 5-star on TF before I have a 4-star on CfH. _________________
