You need to alt-strum those parts, that is, moving your strums up and down instead of just down or up. |

^^ Um, no, you don't alt-strum trills.
For trills, you keep the lower note held down, and tap the higher note as it comes up, making it a pretty rapid tapping sequence. You should only need to strum ONCE, on the very first note.
Though I can't think of any trills on Hard.
For practice, take TIGRYT's "Trill Me" section into Practice mode. I spent ten minutes on it using the method I described and I was nailing them perfectly. _________________

I use the HO/PO method as well, but I have a terrible time with trills... so OP, you aren't the only one! I must just be off with my timing, but any song that has a Trill in it is an automatic non-FC no matter how hard or how easy the rest of the song is _________________

Jesse has the correct method for you! Tapping takes plenty of practice to get the correct rhythm, but it's almost a "get one, you got em all" skill. Good luck! |

^^ There's only one super-fast trill that comes in Institutionalized that I can think of, and it's right at the beginning of the 3rd verse on R and Y (a blue hold comes before it, I think).
For that one, I hold down R and tap Y literally as fast as I possibly can. I can usually get at least 90% of it, and can sometimes combo it.
Freya's trills still kill me though. _________________

Nope, all trills are HO/POs. Only one strum needed. _________________

Most trills are hopo-able. Only need to hit the first note.
There are 2 ways to hit trills.
1. Hold the highest note and use your next strongest finger to tap the other frets as fast as needed.
2. Hit the first note and bring your second hand up to tap for you. |

I used to just alternate my fingers and then I realized that I could hold down the lower fret so after I got really good at my old method, I have to start over on the newer, better method haha _________________
Why does no one talk about Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away) when talking about fast strumming? 81 notes at 16 NPS for 2.5 measures? No one's gonna hit that.
