I have dropped my guitar on several occasions and the star power activator, the one that activates it by tilting the guitar, is very sluggish. I gotta throw the guitar up with extreme force to get it to activate. Has anyone looked at this part of the guitar? Would it be an easy and most of all safe thing to open the guitar up and look at it, see if i can see whats wrong? I do not want to break my guitar at all, so i guess i am looking for an opinion on how easy it is to screw up the internals of the guitar if you take it apart?

Its super easy to open, you just need to unscrew the body, don't worry about the neck.

Its pretty good quality parts in there, so its hard to screw up. Open away!

so i opened the body of the guitar up, and liek you said its all good and finely together, no problems there. Buuut i dont know where the star power activator is, i guess i just assumed it would be in the body. Mayb eits in the neck? or is it some small electronic device that can't partially break or be fixed. is this all in my head? anyone know where and what activates the star power when you tilt the guitar verticle?

My advice would be to examine the cords coming out of the select button and see where they go.

The SP activator is in the body. It's near the Start/Select chip. If your guitar is fairly new (i.e.: You got it at around the time they began selling individual guitars), it should be attached to the body. If you got the game when it came out (old skool, rock on.), it's simply a chip held in between two pieces of plastic.

took out hte start select chip, nothing there but a couple buttons. Don't know which kind o fguitar i have but my model number is pslgh.

also my select button works its the thing htat activates star power when you tilt the guitar verticle. Anyone know if this is some sort of physical trigger or just some electronic componant, if its an electronic componant it seems that it could not get stuck, or be caught up.

...I should've said that better.

Ok, look at where the Start/Select chip's at. To one side of it should be the whammying device (which is this giant white piece of plastic), and to the other should be the SP tilt activator.

Yeah, a foot pedal SP activator would help me so much. I mess up alt strumming sometimes when I tilt and pushing Select doesn't work either.
