I just got karaoke revolution + new microphone today!!

Hooraayy for me! I've been waiting forever! Im training up for when ROCK BAND comes out, cause I wanna be awesome at every instrument in the game!

My Mic got delayed in the mail, BTW. apparently, the mail people simply read my city name, and sent it to the most common post office, without reading the zipcode.

And also, unfortunently I recieved--not the copy of karaoke revolution Vol 3 I was expecting from gamefly--but american idol karaoke edition. I guess I wasn't paying attention when I ordered it, but I beleive thats all the better, the one I have right now will make the one I get later look good!

anyways, I have been playing it all day so far. I brought it to a friends house, and we messed around with it. Im better then my friend in karaoke by about 3-4 times his average score...LOL! It was also funny when my friend's friend walked into me singing...he just kinda stared at me, and I started throwing insults (jokingly) at him to the tune of "Every Rose has it's Thorns"

So far, I have learned how to clear "sugar, we're going down" with 100% on easy mode, and get a platinum on medium! For some reason, my voice is alot better suited for rock songs then anything. I can't sing "hungry like a wolf" for the life of me! or maybe thats cause im a guy...

anyways, here comes a minireview:

KARAOKE REVOLUTION: AMERICAN IDOL

Pros:
+a couple of good songs buried inside
+eyetoy support, and facemapping support! Cool...
+the end of song critique is actually useful in helping your progress!
+can be bought fairly cheap nowadays.
+accuratly catches the atmosphere of the Idol TV show.

Cons:
-More bad songs then good
-facemapping usually make you look strange...I'm white in real life, and the camera thinks I'm black...
-Simon is a doche

So as simon would say: "Absolutley dreadful performance...this game is the equivelent of 3 days with the flu in bed, as in, they both make me sick"

least its better then nothing. now I just gotta wait for KR:V3 to arrive through gamefly. Until then, more GH!!!

Whooo!!! I thought I was the only person in the world that bought Karaoke Revolution. If it was 4 player it could easily be the greatest party game of our generation. (Well that may be overstating it a little but it's a hell of a lot of fun.

Well, maybe not the American Idol one.. but a Karaoke Revolution game.

Actually I like a lot of the songs on this (but I'm probably older than the OP)

We got this game because my wife didn't enjoy GH as much as I was hoping she would and I wanted a musical game we could play together. She's better than I am at singing, that's for sure.

I figured out that you don't have to actually say the words, you just have to get the tone right. Of course, I'm a bad singer as well. Maybe you wanna have a rivalry, Nicko or Superninja?

EDIT: The only one I have is volume 3, so for a rivalry that's what we'd have to use.
