I feel like the arcade DDR player is a dying breed. I go maybe once a week or so now but I used to practically live there.

With the development of arcade-quality homepads, yes, fewer people show up at arcades.

Arcades def. are dead/dying, I can't even think of an arcade close to me anymore (used to be 4 I think during the mid-90's to early 2000's)

They're gone now though.

*tear*

Brings back memories od time crisis games, Marvel vs. street fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom, Capcom vs. snk2, marvel vs. capcom 2, street fighter 2/III: 3rd strike, bust-a-moove, mortal kombat games, Killer instinct, Carn Evil, House of the dead games and any generic overhead jet games where you collect power ups and have bombs.. There was DDR there, but I never got into it.

Luckily I own a few of those on PS2....damn I listed quite a bit @@

I still hop on the dance pads every now and then at the local arcades, but even when DDR was at its peak in popularity, the owners of the arcades around here didn't maintain the machines at all, and the pad sensitivity just got worse and worse, until no one cared anymore.

Heck, the only reason I go to the arcade anymore is for light gun games and the other Bemani games. I'm so out-of-practice at DDR.

How surprising so see another person who lives in Trondheim here. I used to play regularly on the arcade until the machine got removed. Luckily I have a Cobalt Flux at home.

i'm blessed to be within 15 minutes of 6 different arcades. and they say there is nothing to do in omaha! but yeah, the DDR scene is slowly dying here. noone takes care of the pads anymore. we had a supernova machine for a week but someone guy bought it for private use. *cries*

With Xbox Live Arcade you can play old arcade games for a small one-time price. Even so, I occcasionally go to an arcade to play with my friends.

At school I play in the arcade all the time... seeing how it's directly on campus.

DDR/ITG on an arcade machine is like no other. I prefer it over a home pad. Eff that stuff.

I find it hard to play in arcades b/c usually it is so loud you can not hear the song.

Once and awhile I'll find a DDR machine around, but no one's ever playing it, so I usually do a few songs

Well, I have a friend flying it just to hang out. We plan on going to Gameworks, and I KNOW I'm going crazy on the machine. Problem is I have no stamina; I'll only last a few songs -_-.
