This is my list from least distracting to most {basically how often I play each venue}
1) Republic Theatre- Hardly any flashing lights and usually shows your band
2) Red Octane- Likewise to Republic, except the fan spinning really fast with the light gets me distracted a little bit
3) Garden- I like the huge band name atmosphere, and has your name in the paper EVERY time {at least when I play}
4) Basement- Everything moving on the screen when in deep green distracts me SOMETIMES + hardly any name in the paper
5) Freak Pit- idk why I don't like this one, I just don't
6) Toxic Summer Fest {I believe that's the name name}- Like Hylian said, it's like a strobe light no matter what your in (red, yellow, or green), the skateboarders and people jumping is also horrible. Positive is though that your name is in the paper about 50/50 time. _________________

You said most to least distracting then listed them least to most. _________________

I usually play in Toxic Summer Fest. I guess I never cared about the flashing lights in it. _________________

Doesn't every one besides the Basement always show your name? _________________

Somewhat on topic...
I HATE the strobe lights on the GH2 demo. Yeah, I kinda get the feel that I'm there, but it gets seriously difficult to look at the notes I'm trying to play when the strobes go off. I get the fact that they added them in for the feel of the venue, but when you play a real guitar, you aren't looking at your fretboard and following colored circles around, you're playing from, mostly, memory. If they don't get removed (or lessoned), I hope they are only in the Blackout Bar, cause I would just never play there. I mean these lights actually hurt...

My least favorite thing about the GH2 Demo is that when you miss a note the whole fretboard moves and goes black or something for a fraction of a second ... that throws me off so much, it's not even funny.
Anyone else notice this? Or am I just crazy? _________________

Previous to reading this thread I usually used either the basement or the garden, with no logical reason why, just depended on whether I moved the strum bar or not when it got to that screen!
However, after reading that there might be a lot more strobe in GH2 I've been using Toxic Festival and the one with the chandelier (which I find incredibly distracting!) a lot, and I've actually been doing fine (well, as good as normal anyway!), so I'm not sure it has as much impact as I would have thought. |

Always republik theatre for me.
Also play the intro to cfh on hard over and over again. Hard to strum, easy to finger. |
