Like I said eariler, I love button mashers. They think they can win every time, when the fact of the matter is I eat them up and spit them out every time. |

I nominate that this thread title be changed to the "Fighting Game Wang-Waving Thread." _________________

Done.
Anyone like guilty gear? I never really got into it, thought it felt like a rehash of sf, but I personally like SF better. _________________

I got Guilty Gear XX #reload or whatever for the Xbox back when it came out. Game kicked my ass up and down. It just didn't click with me for some reason. I played Ky for the brief stint I had with it, but I just wasn't getting it. Dunno. I actually held my own online, but the problem with that is -no one- played online.
Single player kicked my ass. Fuck I-No. |

I couldn't agree more. Fuck I-No.
A friend of mine loves the game, and told me for a challenge, master the game using Zappa.
He's an... odd character, but I did get good with him. Really good. But then after I finally got good, just like with SSBM, found no one that played, then it went into the play later bin. _________________

Same thing happened to me and Smash Brothers. I get really good and then people just aren't into Smash anymore. What gives. _________________

I have a hard time labelling Smash Bros. as a true fighter, but part of that is having a fighting game purist rant and rave about it on gamespot for three years.
Cool guy, though. |

Well, regardless if you call it a true fighting game or not, it is a fighting game, and playing 1 on 1 with no items...yeah.
Plus, Smash Brothers is one of the most technically demanding fighting games I've played. Always pressing SOME button or another at any given time, but not button mashing. _________________

I couldn't agree more. The only one I can consider the same amount is MvC2. _________________

For once I agree with you on something. GGXX wins hands-down in terms of style... the visuals, the atmosphere, the vibe... all fantastic. But the fighting system... I got the feeling that they were trying to make it complicated just for the sake of it being complicated. Felt kind of obtuse. I just didn't end up having any fun with it.
And I-No is the cheapest boss since Geese. But damn hot though.
*waits for someone to flame him regarding lack of skills, dedication, manhood, etc for insinuating that this game is anything less than awesome* _________________

Yeah, I-No in GG XX is kind of like Akuma in the first SF he appeared in. Massievly broken and such.
I mean, the characters are totally cool, but it just doesn't feel -right-, y'know? |
