How the fuck? I get them sometimes like in Fire it Up but usually I just watch my 4x combo go to nil because of a trill (like in Frankenstein).

Is it just the dreaded word... practice? Or is their some science behind these trills of doom?

Cause if its practice I'll wait till GH2 to practice...

a load of notes going back and forth really fast, such as

r---r---r---r---r
--y--y---y---y

Don't worry, nobody gets the whole trill in Frankenstein, or it would've been FCed by now.

I suppose you know to hold down the lower fret throughout, and other than that I can't give you much advice. I've only ever hit a real trill once. Of course, seeing as I can't usually get OSSOD's and the like, I have even less chance of getting a trill since it takes strumming in time AND fingering. I suppose you can half HOPO it.

I can usually do OSSOD but I only hit trills once in a while (Fire it Up usually).

I always HOPO trills -> I often get the one in Texas Flood , and I can generally get the Frankenstein one until it changes from RB to BY, and then I lose it...

I always use nothing but HOPO for this, if that's any help. Another technique which I find works fairly well for the trills in Fire it Up is to downstrum every second note (so play the Y, hammer on the O, play the Y, hammer on the O - I'm still pretty sucky at that trill, but I have got that part successfully on one or two occasions using that method!

Whatever the case may be, my hat goes off to people who can hit those things most of the time, because they're REALLY difficult to nail!

I'll try those. Maybe they'll work (I hope so!) but if not, GH2 is only 35 days away now.

They're a lot easier to nail when you're strumming every note, I find.

Until GH2 that is...yay fixed hopos

Precisely Ben, which is why I'd just wait till GH2 if it meant practing to hit trills. I see the trills in GH2 being far easier than Super Streaks of Doom/Death/Destruction, as opposed to the opposite which is now.

Yeah - I'm looking forward to that - I think I'm one of the few GH1 players who makes frequent use of HOPOS even when they're buggy as hell, so hopefully GH2 will be a revelation for me

I just strum correctly and hope my left hand keeps up. Usually I only miss 2 or 3 in Frankenstein.

Nice Pope, too bad you don't have the rest of the song...

Btw, you are almost the 4th mascot, how do you feel about this?
