What I meant was, after all the painting (including clear coat) is done, is there any difference in how the guitar looks or in the texture of the guitar?

Also, if I wanted to do a sunburst design, is it recommended to sand the guitar as the guide mentioned? Or could I 'cheat' and use a coat or two of the Fusion paint?

The end result should pretty much be the same as far as texture. The colors may come out lighter or darker depending on your primer.

Depending on what model guitar you have and what condition it is in determines if a sand down is necessary. Anything other than raw plastic should be sanded down. Some guitars and pick guards have a glossy type finish on them that your paint may not stick to well. I would recommend a quick sand down regardless and of course wipe it down well with rubbing alcohol.

On projects like these it is not worth it to take any short cuts because if it gets messed up, you will kill yourself trying to fix your mistake.

I'm going to paint my Xplorer, and thinking of this type of sunburst.

My guitar is in pretty good condition. A little dirty, but nothing some alcohol can't handle. If I am using that design, I would paint the pickguard, so I'm going to assume that needs to be lightly sanded?

I want to paint my Les Paul. I had the aerosmith faceplate, but I decided to sand off the design because it was already starting to come off. I want to paint all the guitar´s body like this http://www.hispasonic.com/images/articles/guitarras/2.les-paul.jpg My questions are:
1. Do I need to sand off the body of the guitar before applying primer? I want to paint the Guitar Hero logo at the back with a different color.
2. Can I follow the same process for fading from lygallday1212´s guide, or do I need to follow a different process, because this is a two color design (i think ).
3. What can I use for making the pick guard?

And I have another question, this is not a question about painting, but maybe someone can help me:
I want to add solo buttons, what can I use to join the extra fretboard with the neck of my Les Paul?

Dont know where to start here really. But, I'll try.

I've got a White Wii faceplate. Say I just wanna spraypaint it Red or something, just a solid color. Would I still have to sand/prime it even though it's white, or could I just go ahead and spray it red?

Also, if there's any advice in it for painting it, I'm game.

Only painting my faceplate cuz I dont know jack about wiring and such, and my parents probably wont lest me do anything else with it. :P

There is a stickied painting guide that answers all of your questions. For best results I highly recommend sanding and priming/using a plastic friendly paint like Krylon Fusion.

You can paint on Bondo with almost anything. Just make sure the surface is nice and smooth because any bumbs or bubbles will show up.

I'm gonna make my X-plorer into a Synsyter Custom styled X-plorer. Any tips on how I should get the lines in?

Goo Gone didn't get my stickers off... All it did was make it really easy to peel the thin layer of plastic or whatever off the top of the stickers. But they still don't come off without ripping in half/leaving a bunch of residue behind. Help!

i'mpretty sure you take off most of the stickers and the goo gone is for the residue. i usually avoid stickers though.

This.

The stickers have a glossy coating that easily peels off. After you remove it, then use the goo gone as directed on the bottle. The stuff needs time to pentrate the paper and adhesive. If the glossy coating is still there, goo gone never makes it to the adhesive.
