So I got the new Tony hawk game, but I am currently too busy playing another game (guess which one). Anyone else get it? I have heard the review are pretty bad for it. I was wondering what you all thought.

I'm such a fanboy of this series, I'll play them until they stop making them, even if they get to THPS27 and it's not even skateboarding anymore it's just analyzing modern art. Project 8 is a fun game. It tries to do some stuff new, some of it works and some of it doesn't. I'd say it's the second weakest game of the series ahead of THUG2. Worth of a rent if you're a fan of the series. _________________

It's not very hard to make a Tony Hawk game better than THUG2 |

I picked it up for my 360, and i LOVE it. The reviews weren't horrid, they were just honest. The level design isn't that amazing, but it's pretty damn good. I think the game is amazingly fun, and the new features work relaly wel...EVEN ONLINE! One bitch i have is they got rid of create a park. You can modify certain area's of the world, but it's not even close to create a park. Create a skater also sucks...very shitty this time around. Those 2 bitches aren't anything compared to the fun i've had with this game online already.
Get online and play with me, my GT is Fugumss _________________

I just want a remake of THPS2...that one had the best stages evar.
The last one I played was THUG1. I've only heard that I've make a wise decision. This thread helps reaffirm that. _________________

American Wasteland was very good (and Sk8land on DS was even better). Much better than THUG2, I'd reccommend renting it. _________________

I'm getting GoW on thursday, so i guess we'll have very much to play.....see who can own who in 3 diff games (guitar hero, THP8, GoW).
and to Anthony: American Wasteland is probably the 2nd weakest entry of the series, that game was soooooo bad except for the online play. The story was absolutely wretched. _________________

Story is the last thing I care about in Tony Hawk, and considering the story revolved around skating much more than THUG2 I was fine with it. The thing I love about THAW is that it has some of the best level design since THPS2. The thing I hated most about THUG and to some extent THPS4 is that the game pretty much spells out what to grind, what to trick and pretty much draws all the lines out. In THPS1 and 2 you had to be inventive and really know the level. THAW you had to be inventive with your lines much more so than in THUG1 and 2. _________________
