is there a quick and easy way to select all notes in anvil and set the duration of the notes...just wondering as some songs i have converted have a lot of sustained notes in them when there is no need and i was just wondering if there was i quick have to fix this rather than having to adjust each note individually

I keep having a problem w/ Anvil Studio.

Every time I try to either merge or copy & paste any MIDI track it gives me an Overflow error.

Anyone know what is up with that, and how to fix it?

I tried searching these boards but couldn't find anything, and Anvil's site is no help either...

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

[edit]
Nevermind, I fixed it myself.

I had the steps to merge backwards. You'd think it wouldn't matter, but it does.

First open your converted MIDI, and then Merge w/ the GH2 template. Not the other way around.

when i do all the converting and saving it works fine until i try to match the notes with the song in guitar hero explorer... i guess its the tempo... the bar that tells you when to play notes goes through all the notes way faster than the song how do i change this?

I have a bad problem now:

I started make my own custom song (even thought i cant play them, dont have modded PS2 and magec swap discs). So I started with freetar because i have done some songs with that before. I did the song (Expert, Hard and Medium difficulties), changed it on to mid and stuffed it in anvil on the guitar track. But now I have an problem: When I put the song in Guitar Hero Explorer, some notes lose their "tails" (some notes aint sustained anymore) and the song is screwed. What I need to do to get it normally in Guitar Hero Explorer or do I just need to do these songs with Guitar Pro (I cant do them in it, this song doesnt have tabs anywhere ><).

Ansver quick please I want to finish this one soon...

That's a Ghex problem, should have checked that thread first. Some sustains don't show in Ghex, it's normal and doesn't mean that they aren't there. I haven't kept up on that info to know what causes it or if it's been fixed. Check the Ghex thread, I'm fairly certain this has been brought up in there before.

I've fixed some MIDI parsing bugs in the upcoming release.
Oh, and also, that release can convert Freetar to GH *whistles*....

Wow, not sure if that's good news or not... Any new feature in Ghex is awesome of course, but I think using Freetar is all but obsolete now that FeedBack has been released.

Well, then you have about 24h to convince me not to include that functionality.
I'll be on in #scorehero all day tomorrow (my time.)

I'd like to request that you keep that feature.

Feedback is nice, but it is still very early in development and is missing a lot of features that are already in the Freetar editor. Honestly, tempo & time signature changing is about the only clear-cut superior feature it has. I'm not trying to crap on Feedback, I'm just saying there is still plenty of reasons for people to choose to use the Freetar editor.

I mean, sure if it wasn't done yet, then yeah I'd say don't bother.
But if it's already in there's certainly there's no reason to remove it.

Unstickying this, as the relevance is now low due to direct Freetar import capability in GHex.

Riz.

Chances are your End event isn't set up properly. In the Events view, the event that looks like this [End] needs to have a time set to it that matches up with the end of your song.

I need to know how to change the end time, because when i double clikc the event that says end, i get a time thats says like 210065 or sumthing, and i dont know what to change it to, to make it match up, can anyone help me

no you can't put starpower in it, i'm a big fan of freetar, and there is no star power, but that won't hold you back in most songs
