Hardest BOSS ever fought/seen?

There have been bosses in video games where they're like "OMGWTFUBERH4XHAXORS!" hard. And some other boss fights where they're not really hard but just fun.

So I was wondering, what's the Toughest boss you've ever battled or seen in a video game?

For ME, the hardest boss I ever fought is probably Sephiroth in KH1.

Btw, I need some help. I remember seeing 1 guy play a Arcade Space Shooter similar to the one I posted above. I saw it on GameTrailers.com but it was 1 guy playing a game on 2 players and you could like switch between a sort of like Dark ship and light ship. I believe the game is only in Japan.

I think the game youre talking about is Ikaruga, you had to keep changing the colour of your ship in order to dodge that colour bullets, coming to xbla soon.

In an old GB game I used to play, (Dragon Warrior Monsters) there were some pretty hard bosses.

That, or my monsters just sucked.

But the funnest I've ever played would have to be Meta Ridley on Metroid Prime 1.

The hardest that I can remember was the harrier jet in MGS2 on extreme difficulty. Most of the attacks killed you instantly and the missile attack was very hard to avoid. Took me forever to beat it.

I would have to say that all Zelda bosses are quite hard (excluding the final one, which Nintendo is famous for

) and battling Grunty at the end of the first Banjo Kazooie.

EDIT: The below post reminded me of the final hunt in FFXII. It LITERALLY takes you 3 hours to beat him, it's fucking insane.

Final Fantasy 10...what was the name of it...that boss that took like an hr to kill lol. Penance I think it was. That was always an insane battle.

I remember having trouble with Culex in SMRPG the first time I played through that because I was young...

But otherwise, the Deep Dungeon in Final Fantasy Tactics and the Cave of Trials in StarOcean: The Second Story takes the cake for me.

Not "boss fights" per se, but close enough, I think.

1 on 1 with Wiegraf in Final Fantasy Tactics. Holy shit that battle alone took me a week.

Also, in Xenogears the battle with Miang after your final battle with Ramsus took me ages to beat as well.
