Just a simple question, can you use Gameshark 2 to boot your custom GH songs and use the codes with it (So go GameShark 2 -> Guitar Hero using a swap method), or does it still require some kind of weird swap magic -> GameShark 2 - > Guitar hero method? |

well, i dunno if gameshark has some size limits, but it's theoretically possible, you'll need a code big as the song you want to replace, so it's not very usefull in my advice... _________________

i was talking about using a gameshark instead of swap magic actually, i heard it could be used as a boot disc if you had the right version, but i dunno if it worked for DVD's as well. |

He's trying to eliminate the use of Swap Magic by using a GameShark instead.
I think it might have worked for the PS1, but I doubt it'll work, or else nobody would be buying Swap Magic and mods for their PS2.
If you already have the GameShark and a DVD Burner, then just make a copy of a game you own and try it out. _________________

I was also wondering about this, I have heard that you could use a gameshark to play burned DVDs. What I read was for the original large PS2, it said to you can take off the CD tray cover and move a white tab and manually open and close the tray so the PS2 doesn't recognize that a new DVD has been inserted. I, however, have a slim. So I was wondering if anyone had heard of a similar method for the slim.
Basically I'm trying to get around buying a Swap Magic disc. |

If you get a set of coder discs, you can add codes into that. However, I tried and it didn't seem to work with the all green code, and my codebreaker doesn't like the coder disc, for some reason it just won't boot the custom songs.
Its my only hope of passing Fury of the Storm... _________________

if your codebreaker uses a thumbdrive to store its data, try taking it out before loading your boot disk. my swap magic disk wont get past the splash screen if i have a thumbdrive inserted, so that might be it. _________________
