To give everyone a heads up, I will soon (in a few weeks) be opening a store on scorehero where everyone can spend their contribution points to upgrade their account (yes, you can finally put these points to use). It will also have an option to donate money to earn contribution points (in addition to earning points the usual way).
The bandwidth generated from scorehero along with the server/hosting package I own is costing $130 per month and starting next month it will be completely at my own expense (my father's company was paying and will no longer be covering it). Of course it would also be nice to receive some compensation for the many hours I've spent improving the site and dedication on improving everyone's scores (I should have all optimal starpower paths posted within the next month). But I would be satisfied with simply covering the server/bandwidth costs. I'm hoping the donations will be enough to cover payment at least through the end of the summer until next semester when I should be hired as a TA at my college for some income.
However, depending on how all this goes (amount of donations, if I'm accepted for the TA position, etc.) I might at some point in the future have to require some very small membership fee to keep scorehero running (but hopefully not).
Feel free to post your thoughts. _________________

The main thing would be to increase the maximum allowed number of scores per song (currently limitted to 3), but I will think of other things and take suggestions for other possibilities. _________________

Well, how would you plan on accepting donations?
Paypal? Money Order? Credit Card?
Try to make as many options available as possible, otherwise some people who love the site wouldn't be able to help you out(I don't have a CC)
But honestly, this site rocks... and I for one don't mind paying a bit of cash for it. _________________

I didn't think I could help, but maybe this will do.
I'm in the same boat as shutendoji: my mom would go crazy. |

I will have a paypal link where you would be able to select a payment method (credit card, or direct paypal transfer will be acceptable, not sure about other methods).
And if you can't donate because of your moms slitting your throat or whatever the issue may be, don't worry about it. I'm not expecting everyone to donate. _________________

I can vouche for the obscene amount of time that JC has put into this site just out of pure desire to create a good, quality site. |

And it is because of his "desire to create a good, quality site" that we should be there to support him. |

I agree. If JC actually gets a budget and decides to put me on payroll, I might actually do something of value around here. :p |
