That game and its sequels are Pretty Awesome

When I was little, I would have nightmares about my wagon catching fire. Then a few years later with OTII I would have nightmares about the wagon tipping over when caulking it to cross rivers. Then with OTIII I'd have nightmares about like.. being mauled by a bear. Then I lost both OTII and OTIII in Paris but I was okay with that at the time because it was Paris and all.

Anyway! Oregon Trail? Pretty awesome

Man.....good times. The sinkings and the huntings.....and the diseases and death. Good times, indeed.

Brought me back to my childhood, In elementary I remember my first interaction with a computer was this game, along with kid pix or something, and that trucker game, good times.

I remember being a big fan of the rafting part at the end of the first one. I also liked hunting at every opportunity. My favorite "educational" game back in the day though was Number Munchers.

Like I said, primes FTW. It got tough (for a second grader who barely knew what primes were) after a few levels.

You shot 83597952 gazillon pounds of meat. You were only able to carry back 200 pounds.

It took me years to figure out that if you shoot less, there's more later on in the game...I always wondered why anyone would want to quit hunting...

i love the oregon trail. that game is what got me into PC gaming (well, that and Half Life and Unreal). i really miss those games, they need to make one or two for the PS3 or the 360, that would be awesome to hunt in first person
