I haven't had tons of time to play the game, but whenever I had free time I have. I'm probably halfway through the game I believe. I'm very impressed with the game so far. As a huge fan of Unleashed, and a very satisfied gamer with Colors, this game blows both of them out of the water with it's polished gameplay and stage design. The stages are easier to beat than the other games, yet at the same time, they're must harder to master. There are a million ways to go with these stages, for both Modern and Classic Sonic. I'm more a fan of the Modern Sonic myself, since I'm in love with the Hedgehog Engine. I hope the 2nd half of the game is as good as the first.
One more note, the challenges. I really don't know what to make of them. They're very hit and miss, and I mean that literally. When they're on, they are so much fun and enjoyable, but when they're bad, they are TERRIBLE. It's absolutely frustrating as hell playing some of the annoying challenges. It's similar to Sonic Unleashed with it's Missions except those were optional and 90% of them were annoying. _________________

Sonic CD is on the 360. I need to get a points card but it's nice to see. I haven't checked the PS3 yet. Also I got Sonic Generations for the 3DS. It's different from the console version with different levels and Quote: | Classic Sonic learns the homing attack which is weird | . The game also feels different, and some of the levels seem a little short. _________________

Best Sonic game in like over 10 years (I'd say since Adventure, but honestly I like it more than Adventure, at least more than the non-Sonic/Tails/Knuckles stages of Adventure). Sega should do nothing but make sequels to this forever.
Also, best music in a Sonic game since S3&K...mainly due to the Sonic 1-3/K remixes >_>
Most of the music after the Genesis stages sucks, which is no surprise. _________________

Adventure 1 and 2 have kick ass music if you ask me. All this fast paced metal and rock but still has diversity. _________________

I just got this game for Christmas, and haven't gotten too far, but I've beaten the first boss! This game is quite fun, and also has quite a bit of a challenge factor! I'm not used to these games where you don't just have to press right and spin dash to win. :P And I think I may prefer the modern Sonic levels over the classics. I mean, don't get me wrong, they're both awesome, but considering the failure of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006, they're really come a long way (Maybe I only think this because the only Sonic games I have played are the Genesis games, and the 2006 version). But either way, wow.
On that note, Speed Highway Act 2: Fucking fun as hell. I didn't even know this level existed, since I never played Sonic Adventure, but damn. That was fun. _________________

Now that I've started 100% the game, I've found something very interesting. Whenever I'm playing as the classic Sonic it doesn't take me long to switch to the Modern version for things, and I stay playing Modern Sonic for longer periods of time. I find it just so much more fun to play this way. I think this is really showing how stupid the fucking 3D Sonic bias has been with Unleashed being the biggest victim of it. 2D Sonic is not as fun as 3D Sonic now. They've essentially perfected the Hedgehog engine at this point, whereas 2D Sonic almost feels behind. (Which makes sense, being that they're copying it from games 15+ years of ages. XD) _________________

Unleashed would've been great had they removed everything, but the Sonic speed levels lol |

Sonic Generations is currently on sale on Steam along with pretty much every other Sonic game, cause Sonic 4 and CD just came out yesterday (Thursday). I grabbed Generations as it's the only Sonic game I haven't played, for £9.99. Dunno what it is in dollars or euros but it is so worth it.
edit: Also, the Casino Nights DLC is out as well, 99p. I'm assuming $1 and 1 Euro. |

Today SEGA provided it's largest update to it's Steam offerings, all focusing on Sonic.
First, Sonic CD is now available on Steam for only $5, and as a bonus this week, you can get a free Metal Sonic Costume on Sprial Knights when you purchase Sonic CD on Steam. This version is the one by Christian Whitehead and has full support for Steam Leaderboards and Achievements.
Second, Sonic 4 Episode I was released on Steam for only $10. No improvements over earlier versions but it does have Steam Leaderboards and Achivements.
Third, Sonic Generations PC version got DLC in the form of the Casino Night pinball level, which was a pre order bonus on the 360/PS3 versions via GameStop. The DLC is $1.59.
Forth, Many Sonic games on Steam are now discounted until Monday. Games discounted are Generations, Adventure DX, Sonic 1, 2 3&K, Spinball, 3D Blast and ASR. _________________

Man I wish I had money, I'd probably consider buying at least a few of the classics. |

So don't get the Casino Nights DLC. It's not Casino Nights at all besides the music. It's literally a pinball minigame, like the ones you got in Sonic Adventure at the Casinopolis stage, only this one cost you money. _________________

I got mine bundled with the Collector's Edition, and I have to agree. One thing that bothers me is that it's mostly the color blue, making it a lot harder to see where Sonic is. I only played it for like 10 minutes, so I'm not sure how deep it is, but it seems like it's more shallow than the machines in SA1, and considering there's (to my knowledge) only one table, that's a little disappointing in its own right. Even worse, there's not even leaderboards, at least as far as I could see >_>.
By the way, I Platinum'd the game. Have to say, it's fucking awesome, and I agree with a lot of what people have been saying (i.e., the modern stages being well-done). My only complaint with the control comes down to how the game seems to have been designed to be played with the D-Pad or the Control Stick, meaning that Modern Sonic can't be carefully moved, as even the slightest movement of the control stick is the same as moving it all the way. It doesn't ruin the game, but it would have been nice to at least make it so you could move with more precision when playing Modern Sonic (even if that meant not being able to use the D-Pad... I don't think it natural to play 3D with a D-pad, anyway, and don't like playing 2D games with a control stick when I don't have to XP).
Oh, yeah, and there's a new Sonic 4 Episode 2 trailer, this time with gameplay. It's looking pretty awesome so far, and it looks to be doing something Generations lacked: a 2 player option like Sonic 2 had. _________________

the game looks great. I really can't wait to play it. The guy playing it, however, isn't all that good. _________________
