I watched the opener with Germany and Costa Rica, I missed the second half due to me having to go to work. Un...fortunately, I've not felt well at all today, so I decided to call in sick, and took a nap. I woke up to find Germany had managed a 4-2 win over Costa, which didnt surprise me much, but its good to see Costa Rica pull 2 back.
Ive just finished watching the Poland - Ecuador game, which was intense and it shows Ecuador deserved to win as they played better as a team.
So yes, will anyone else be watching, if you are, which team are you following? _________________

honestly, i didn't think that Japan even qualified for the world cup...i need to pay a little more attention to international football (soccer). My three teams right now are USA (my homeland), England, and the team that is possibly one of the big favorites in the tournament, Brazil.
I saw the Ecuador v Poland match yesterday and i must say that i am impressed that Ecuador can actually win at sea level.
As far as the US goes, i think we are in a tough group with Italy and the Czech Republic, but i think that if we can get solid performances from people like Landon Donnovan, Eddie Pope, and Oguchi Onyewu we can make it out of the group stages. If we get second in our group, we are screwed.

i'm not gonna go for a underdog like the netherlands (even though the have a ligit shot). I know that other countries have good shots too (even the host country GErmany). But to be the best you gotta beat the best, and England and Brazil are the best.
edit: underdog is the wrong word for the NEtherlands since they are the number three ranked team in the world right now. but i still think they will have a very hard time to win it all. |
